My little one is a month old. He had a tongue tie that stopped him latching so I exclusively pumped and bottle fed for his first week until we got the tongue tie sorted.
Since then he happily feeds at the breast but only if I use nipple shields. My nipples are fairly flat and don’t seem to give him much to work with. When I try and offer him a feed without he fusses like he can’t find it, and after a few minutes just wails because he gets so frustrated 😭
Does anyone have any practical tips to help us ditch the shields? Thanks!

I tried ditching the shield but my little one just wouldn't feed without it for about 1.5 months. I ended up coming to terms that it just might be the way we feed and then out of nowhere right around 2 months he weened himself off, just stopped wanting to feed with it (I did start to offer without it at least a couple times a day if I could, then would put it on when he wasnt having it).
I think he just needed to figure things out. I know it's not much help on tips.. the ones I found online didn't help us much but just here to say you're little one might just need a little time 🩵
