Hey All,
FTM here and just curious with particularly snack portions, do you go by their hunger cues or stick to portion sizes? I always thought of snacks as mini meals to get them through to the main meals but my LO 13 months & is an eating machine but always cries when his snack is finished so I figure maybe he’s still hungry so I give him more food but then not sure if that’s the right thing? He’s very active but I don’t want too much food to lead to constipation or over eating/obesity later in life but if he’s hungry I obviously don’t want him stop him if that makes sense?
I guess in short, should I keep feeding him big snacks if he’s eating it or now stick to guideline portions for his age?
TIA

Not sure what the answer is but I've been wondering the exact same thing with my nearly 1 year old

As long as the snacks are healthy and he’s not filling up on what some consider “snack” food and not eating his healthy meals then let him go!! They’re supposed to have a snack between each meal. And I don’t believe obesity would be a concern if he’s eating the right things!
But you can always ask your pediatrician!
