My baby is going to be 1 on 1st September. I breastfeed and was wondering if I should start toning it down now? He does have 2 or 3 full meals with snacks and water throughout the day but during the night I tend to put him on the boob when he wakes or cries. Is this still fine? Is breastfeeding still on demand? I want to breastfeed till he’s 2.

I don't know tbh but I do the exact same but since he's started to eat better he's definitely cut down on as many feeds as he had previously, its hard to wean though isn't it because you don't know how much they take each time
I personally don't want to carry on till he's 2, I'd like to stop as soon as we can so a slightly different scenario x

A friend told me about 'don't offer, don't refuse' so going to try this during the day after his 1st birthday. Will probably still carry on night feeds for a few more months

Don't offer, don't refuse.

What is that?

I breastfed my eldest until he was 2. At 1 I used to BF first thing in the morning, about 4.30pm and at bedtime. I think he was waking once at night and I used to BF then too.
By the time I stopped he was just feeding at night, and I think it was just comfort and I don’t think I was producing much milk x
