My closest friends are those that I made at university, however a large number of them are still living the fun kid free single life.
I love my family and when I’m not working, want to spend all my time with them.
I still get invited to go out but my friends always act like I’m missing out if I say no. I don’t want to let these friendships go. It’s really hard to see some of them though while juggling a full-time job and a toddler. They are not interested coming out to see us at home should I move on?

I’ve been feeling the same I totally get it. I do have a couple of mum friends but idk why they don’t meet up as much and are fine with staying at home. The other friends are from uni and we used to be close. They are more outgoing and have no kids and some of them are not even in relationships so they always go out.
I have realised that when people are not in the same boat as you they find it really difficult to be part of your life and happy moments. Everyone’s making their own life out there and loving for themselves
I always imagined being close with my friends and visiting each other whether there are kids or not. However we’ve just grown apart. I’m waiting till we can relate to the same things and maybe then they’ll be more involved in my life. I’m trying to move past feeling sad that they’re not involved. It used to get to me a lot.

Yes - fortunately I’m of age now where more have kids than don’t and their priorities are changing too. Those who don’t I’m def not as close to anymore… Ive made peace with it largely by thinking that friendships ebb and flow. I won’t close any of doors but right now we aren’t at the same stage in life. I like to think some of them feel the same but I do worry sometimes they think I’m being difficult by not dropping everything and spending a fortune to meet them for dinner in London etc
