My partner sees my literal 9 day old sleeping, and starts talking mad loud saying he needs to wake up. My baby did the boo boo lip he clearly did not like that. My boyfriend is like he needs to be AWAKE and takes him from me and starts talking all loud and walks away. I had a kid almost ten years ago and his dad was the same but this is triggering to me because my first babies dad was worse and abusive to me. So I HATE this behavior. Our baby was awake every 2-3 hours last night that is quite literally text book definition of a newborn. He was feeding and I was pumping but I just told him I’ll do everything at night if he’s that fucking bothered. What is the mans logical thinking to force a newborn awake instead of using their effing wake windows to keep them awake? He was down in our basement when my baby was wide awake before that eating and just relaxing like eyes wide open. I really don’t support this type of parenting at all. My baby was so relaxed. I feel like many men think this way to be honest.

maybe it’s just ignorance.. talk to him with some substance and help him understand why the wake windows are better. Help him understand how much time you have or how their little bodies need rest to grow when he’s on a schedule instead of waking him up.
my husband doesn’t do no dumb shit like that but he did do/still does a lot of things i didn’t understand and it triggered me bc it wasn’t my way. but i had to remember there isn’t a book on how to parent and he’s allowed to parent how he desires. Especially if it’s not harming the child. I still have a hard time not being controlling and making him feel inadequate with his parenting choices.
he has 3 children with another women and claims he’s done this three times and he has his way and I have mine. That’s all he said over and over and over to me. I’m not even controlling but like can you just not wake up the baby that way? You’d get the same exact result picking him up and snuggling him instead of practically yelling wake up while taking him out of my arms. Not cool at all in my opinion. But I understand what you’re saying. And if I mention why I feel this way he says I’m comparing him to my ex. Damn right I am you two doing the same exact shit ???? Just ones a little less harsh and doesn’t beat me but damn what is it with wanting to yell a baby awake with some guys stupid fuckers for real

okay yea he’s being a know it all. i’m sorry you’re going thru this. you deserve to feel safe by how he handles the baby. the only way fr is to talk about it even tho he doesn’t want to hear it.. maybe change your approach or try counseling to help get your point across

Does he not realise newborn can sleep for 18-22 hours a day!!!!

Man I'd be livid
I’m MAD. And he’s trying to cuddle and then ask if I was crying and be all sweet and he’s like wow you’re such a cry baby like teasing me and it’s like bitch please. 😅 I’m frustrated and after what I’ve gone through with my first I do a hell of a job not projecting it onto you to be honest but I can’t handle some shit and when it involves my baby that’s one of the things I can’t handle and I’m literally not sorry. Idc if you have 30 children honestly. also the baby is asleep next to him so I’m confused of the entirety of the situation. You woke the baby up loudly to then legit put him back to sleep? That’s even worse.
“this is my fourth child i know what I’m doing” -his exact words.

Clearly not!!!!!!
