Has anyone had to go to maternal fetal medicine for having an inconclusive result due to low fetal fraction on the NIPT twice? I am very nervous something is wrong. My Dr said it is routine after 2 results say that but still I am worried.

What do they consider low fetal fraction??

they didn’t even give me a number. It just says test not performed due to low fetal fraction and it’s said it twice now.

that’s so frustrating! Hopefully you get some answers soon and everything’s okay. 🙏🏻 I’m assuming you’ve had ultrasounds to confirm the dates and heartbeat and everything. Is there at all a possibility it was too early?
I have heard a story once before of someone not knowing they lost their baby, then unknowingly getting pregnant again before the next ultrasound, so at the ultrasound they were so scared the baby wasn’t growing, but it was just a new fetus! And had she of done the NIPT thinking she was 10 weeks instead of like 4/5 weeks it would’ve 100% come back inconclusive - I know that’s so rare but I figured I’d throw the possibility out there…

yes! I actually just left from an ultrasound and baby girl is thriving with a strong heartbeat measuring 16 weeks so right on track! So that is relieving but is still confusing why the test keeps coming back like that.

hey that sounds like a win to me!!! 🙌🏻

My fetal fraction said 9.0% and I have no clue what that means
