Breastfeeding journey

I’m using nipple shields with my 7 week old, I’ve tried him without occasionally but I think he’s got used to them. I’m not seeing as too much of an issue, as long as he’s feeding.

Yes mine is almost 6 weeks and we use nipple shields. To be honest I'm quite lazy trying without as I find it hurts! Xx

We used shields exclusively for 6 weeks but I was referred to the infant feeding team as he was dribbling a lot and taking on a lot of air. They showed me the “flipple” technique and since that appointment we haven’t used the shields again! He feeds much more efficiently now (5-10 mins on one boob max) and is so much better without the faff!
