I didn't have an elective section I was induced and he wasn't budging so I chose to one instead of carrying on with the induction as I was tired and nothing was really progressing. But the calmest and most positive experience I could ask for - I was in tears and really anxious but as soon as I went into theatre the staff are funny, chatting to you to the point you don't really realise what's even happening.

I'd already had an epidural so my partner came in with me from the start and they just topped me up. I went in and had my baby at 7:55pm and I was in recovery by 8:30 - all happens so quickly and you're so focused on your baby you forget what's going on!
Recovery isn't easy I won't sugar coat it but keep on top of medication and get moving as much as you can as soon as you can but do take it easy!

You've got this ❤️ message me if you have any questions or anything. I had my little boy 11 weeks ago!

I had my elective section on the 3rd of September and couldn’t have wished for a better experience with my son. They talked me through everything and really helped to calm me down, my blood pressure dropped a little bit (totally normal) and the anaesthetist was amazing with the meds keeping me feeling good. They numbed my hand for the cannula and numbed me before the spinal, which I was terrified of, and now I feel silly because it was the easiest thing ever! They also put the catheter in after I was numb which I was grateful for haha.

I didn’t even know they’d started the section and my son was basically out! They kept a really close eye on my after the surgery checking on me. Catheter being removed didn’t hurt at all, neither did removal of the cannula after 12 hours!

You’ll absolutely smash it I’m sure and the professionals are on hand to help you with literally everything so don’t put a brave face on and ask every question you have! Xx

I've had two repeat csections and one emergency. The planned ones were so much different than my emergency one. They went so smoothly, even with having a bunch of scar tissue from my previous sections that my doctor had to deal with my recent one still was pretty quick and easy. I was a bit dehydrated so they did struggle to find a good spot for my IV but that was the only sticky spot. My anesthesiologist was fantastic and she talked to me the entire time to help me stay calm. I had already been told that my hospital tends to go the catheter before the spinal so I was able to ask them to wait until after I was numb, which they did.

I had my planned one as he was breech and I almost fell asleep during it because of how calm everyone was and the environment, they let me put my own playlist on and talked me through it they didn’t tell me anything unless I asked, I asked them if they had started and they had almost already had him out I couldn’t feel a single thing the only thing that I could feel was the nerve block

I had an unplanned C-section after 36 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing. The c-section was sooooo much easier than labor. It was over before I even knew it started. I didn’t feel a thing. And honestly my recovery hasn’t been bad at all. Stopped taking any pain meds by the time I was out of the hospital (4 nights). I am happy my next birth will be a c-section also.

I’m also fell asleep during it

I would totally recommend elective c sections to everyone! The feeling of being numb and not being able to feel your body is so weird and I really didn't like that at first but I calmed down in a few minutes and the feeling comes back within a few hours. If you start feeling sick or anything, let them know and they can top you up with more medication. I asked for a cold facecloth on my head too which really helped me feel calm. You will probably get the shakes which is completely normal but nobody ever talks about that but don't be alarmed if your teeth suddenly start chattering 😂

Your baby will be born in 10-15 minutes after the surgery started and it's the most magical experience 🥹

Me too!! Help!! 🥹🥹 I barely slepttt

The shakes was the worst part for me, but it completely went away as soon as my baby was put on my chest in the recovery room

Hope it went okay and you and are safe and healthy 🙂🥰

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
