Teething

My son has been showing symptoms of teething about about a week & a half now (9 days) No tooth has popped out. We’ve struggled with fussiness, irritability, clinginess (not being able to fall asleep without being held). He’s been rubbing his cheeks, grabbing ears, put all fingers in mouth, sticking out tongue and crying. We’ve been dealing with it, giving remedies, chew toys and all but still NO TEETH??? I keep reading that teething symptoms lasts about 3-5 days per tooth and that’s cause the tooth pops out within that time. We’re going on weeks of seeing major signs of teething but no teeth popping out…. Anyone else experience this? Is this length of symptoms/fussiness normal without seeing a tooth? TIA FROM A VERY TIRED MAMA 😅🫶✨

Uhh mine has been teething since 6 MONTHS OLD 😂 I wouldn't worry some timelines are just larger But yeah we have been going through it for months with all the symptoms you listed 🥴 Bump where teeth should come but nothing so far

@Casey oh man 😭 we’ve had mild signs/symptoms for a few months too but him not being able to sleep & actually screaming from the pain is hurting my heart 😅😭 we’re both soooo tired throughout the day too I pray every morning those suckers pop out so we can have a nice little break before the next round 🥲

3-5 days is what I would say the estimate probably is once you start to feel the tooth approaching breaking through (when you can see a bump and more redness). I think that is when it is most uncomfortable for our little ones. Hope they pop out soon :(

@Kayla I feel the same way girl! My son has been waking up almost every night crying for the past month! Everyone says that he is teething but no teeth yet either! TIRED PARENTS INDEED! We used to lay him down and pat him to sleep and now he needs to be held, patted and rocked to sleep. Idk what else to do! I want some sleep back!!! ): when will it end?? Could it be something else?

@Jenn on really bad teething times we have given Motrin and that settled him immediately which is how we knew it was actually teething and not something else This lining up with sick season is absolutely not helping 😭 hang in there mamas 🤞🏽 for sleep We have ups and downs Have only one night wake up one night then a bunch another 🥴 he's in our room so we just switch off who settled him (if it isn't breastfeeding related) hoping for the best

@Jenn that’s why I’m panicking a little, because a part of me wants to take him to the ER when he shows he’s in pain :-( But all the signs lead to teething so I’m riding the wave. I’m just SO TIRED 😭 But thank you for commenting, it makes me feel better that I’m not alone right now! I hope those teeth pop out for your baby and you can get some rest soon ❤️❤️

@Kayla For sure this is some first time mom stuff I'm sure (it has to be right?) 😂 I'm sure by the time teething is all over you will know the drill and we will all come out okay For now frozen teethers and baby Motrin and lots of cuddles!🤗 You care so much about your precious baby that's why you want them to be comfortable and want to do whatever you can! Totally a good thing !🤱 Hope your baby's teeth pop out soon too and you get some well deserved rest! ❤️ We are all struggling and enjoying every moment together 🙂‍↕️

@Casey yes thank you so much 🫶🫶🫶❤️

@Casey Ahhh! The struggles. Hopefully this phase eventually stops so we can get some sleep back. Hang in there as well! This shall pass!

@Kayla I would panic too! So I don’t blame you. Baby will be fine! This too shall pass!! What are the signs of teething? I never bothered to look it up but he’s drooling like crazy sometimes and he moves his mouth around a lot. You are most welcome!! I hope the teeth pops out soon for our little ones! Wish you all the best! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

@Jenn some that I’ve noticed with my baby is rosey cheeks, pulling on the ear, he’ll chew on his finger or try to put his whole fist in his mouth, & yes the drooling It’s him really rubbing and pointing to his mouth area which I’m taking is his gums bothering him 🥺

@Kayla Oh duh! Those are the signs! For some reason since my son has been showing those signs for months — I didn’t think nothing of it. For sure the pulling on the ear is much more visible. Aww poor baby! I wish they didn’t have to go through this pain!
