My daughter is 14 months old. She keeps sticking her legs through the slates on her crib. If I transition her to a toddler bed now would it be to early or not. I’m a first time mom so this is all new to me.

Are her legs getting stuck? Or can she get them out herself?
I don’t have any advice but would love to hear answers too! My sons (14 months) already climbing out. We have resulted in cosleeping again to keep him safe. I’m not quite ready for the toddler bed…. I can see him just getting out of bed and coming to find us.

She has chunky thighs so her legs do get stuck so she’s currently sleeping in her pack and play but I would like to move away from the crib and pack and play just don’t know if it would be to soon or not because she is starting to slowly walk by herself

I've seen the Montessori style beds on the floor, we're considering something similar. Might be worth taking a quick dive into researching. If the room is safe they might just play by themselves and crawl back to the bed, but you'd have to have a pretty much empty room.

We did try that type of bed already and she didn’t sleep that well. She went from sleeping through the night to having multiple wakings so we switched her back to the crib and she’s finally back to sleeping through the night I feel like a toddler bed that’s close to the floor would help since her crib doesn’t transition to a toddler bed my main concern is her legs keep getting stuck which is resulting in me not getting any sleep since I have to go get her legs unstuck

What about adding in those fence slats, like cross hatch the crib :)

I could try that I’ll talk to my husband as well because he would have a better idea of how to do that

I could see my daughter trying to climb those! Just something to consider!

our son transitioned to a toddler bed at one, it’s been great, first three days was hard but the bed is in our room. So when he gets up and out we lay back down with him and he falls asleep almost immediately. He also puts himself to sleep now too.

We will more then likely get a toddler bed because it seems like the safest route and the best option

They have small toddler beds for under $100 at IKEA that are of really good quality. I put my second daughter in the toddlers bed when she was a baby and she sleeps independently better than my first and third child.

Put them to sleep in your bed and let them wake up in their bed
