Supermarkets

Hi all, so my 3 month old is generally very chilled out, until we go to a supermarket and she hates it, gets really worked up and upset.
My mum and a couple of friends of mentioned to have said it’s an autism trait and to keep my eye on it. Obviously I just want what’s best for her and if she is showing signs of this, help her in the best way possible.
Apart from the supermarket issues she’s meeting all other milestones but just wondering if others have this?

Could be the lighting. It's awful. I hate fluorescent lights, my son was the same, were now both diagnosed with autism 😅 not saying she defo has it. But generally fluorescent lights affect a lot of people with asd! Xx

3 months is far too early to pick up signs for autism. It’s probably just very overstimulating, or unsettling being in a different environment, is she in a pushchair, or on you? Can try baby wearing if that helps for comfort.

Oh my gosh, she’s 3 months. People don’t need to be mentioning ASC at this point. Babies get overwhelmed and overstimulated very easily. As she gets older I’m sure she’ll get more used to situations like that.

Try baby wearing her, she’s 3 months old it could be 28362 things and autism is the bottom of the list x

Try going during her naps so leave before she naps and hopefully she might sleep while you shop

My son is 4 months and was the same I’ve found if I turn the carry cot part of his pushchair into the seat and lower the hood so he can be nosey he now loves it also talking to him and making him laugh on the way round, what also worked is light up Halloween or Xmas toys I’d pick one up off the shelves and put it in front of him he’d be so focused on that he would calm right down then I’d always end up buying it because I didn’t have the heart to take it away from him lol

My poor boy got injured at school today. Face first on concrete. School handled it well. One of the staff went to the ER with him until we got there. Has a huge knot on his forehead and face swollen and scratched and bloody. Poor boy

Speech

Hi everyone I am just at such a loss here. My son isn’t saying any clear words. He has been in speech therapy since he was 16 months and was of course evaluated for autism but they didn’t see any signs of autism in him so that can’t be it. He does use some gestures and understands quite a bit. His little brother is arriving in August and I’m really hoping some words will come before then. Any one else experience this with their child before 2 and then words came??

Baby hitting themselves

Hey everyone, I hate going to Google because it just makes you feel very uncomfortable afterwards. My 18 month old has recently in the past week started to hit himself on the head with his hands and sometime in our play room foam floor he will hit his head against the ground. I googled (i know your not supposed to) and it said that it can be a sign of frustration of not being able to communicate. When he would hit himself i would obviously react and grab his hands and say no sternly. I dont know if my reaction has made it worse because it has become more frequent. He sometimes will go to hit me and once has went to go bite me. Can someone give me some advice.

Leaky nappy advice

We use mamia nappies and have had no issue until now. We are using size 3 but she is leaking through them every night as she sleeps through the night. We’ve tried 4+ for night but they are still too big. Does anyone have any advice or any other brand that might hold more in a size 3?

Circumcision question

So my son got circumcised before leaving the hospital he’s 3 days old and they told me the day after leaving to take it off which is today and just add a lot of Vaseline to the area to help it and when we took him to his pediatrician he told us to just keep adding Vaseline on top of the gauze and it’ll fall off on its own but now I’m worried that it’ll get stuck to his skin if it sits to long. What do you feel I should do
