The way it was described to me was that if 100 babies were lined up from smallest to biggest your baby would be bigger that 74 other babies so 75th in line in size order x

It essentially just means that 25% of babies are bigger than she is at this stage and 75% weigh the same or less x

worth noting percentiles in pregnancy are also based on your height/weight and any previous babies size you have had. So of all babies born to women your size, your baby is bigger than 74 out of 100 babies. It’s only once they are born they are compared to all other babies.

Also I’ve been told that while 25 babies would be bigger, at this stage, that could be like a grain of sand different. Mine is 10% but said it should still be “normal weight” and not small.i was told what they care about is have you stayed “on track”. So if I started with 79% and suddenly at 38 weeks it’s 10% that could indicate a problem. Its one of those measurements they measure but most times doesn’t matter I think
