Would you leave some oat milk in your toddlers cot for him to have overnight?

My boy now wakes up 1-2 times a night wanting a bottle. It’s not a problem him having the milk, happy for him to have it in the night. But I’m tired 😂 room is about 16-20c and would be left in from when I go to bed

Can you not just leave some water x

I have a bottle of oat milk ready in the night out of the fridge as well ;)!

I did this with a leak-proof bottle of soy milk every night for a while last winter. Then the weather got warmer in the summer and had to stop but saved me getting up. Now she's fine with just her water bottle. I guess it depends how old your toddler is.

I'd worry about his teeth in the long run 😅

I think in terms of the room temp it would probably be fine. The oat milk we get is stored on the shelves rather than fridges in the supermarket so is fine to be ambient temp.

@Amy he gets so pissed if it’s water. Usually leads to a full on midnight meltdown that lasts an hour at least and I cba to deal with that 😂

@Emma I mean he already expects it so just saves me a trip 🫠🤣 I totally agree I know as soon as I put a stop to the night bottles he’ll stop waking. But again cba with the midnight drama. I’m picking my battles atm lol

@Sam oh I do too. I wouldn’t want this to be a long term thing. Just until I have the energy to do something about it 😂 plus he’s already having it in the night so just saves the trip!

@Rebecca this was my thought too. The only thing is once open it needs to be refrigerated 🤷‍♀️ so really not sure

@Robyn my little boy is 16 months. We stopped breastfeeding at 14/15 months so he’s always been used to a night feed and that’s why we continued the bottle. But now he wakes for the bottle and LOVES his bottle. Will literally cuddle it to sleep 🫠 ideal world it’ll be over and done with but ugh just have no energy to do something about it atm and it gets us the best sleep we can for the time being. In the new year, if not sooner, we’ll be axing those night bottles but until then I surrender 🏳️

@Kate do you!! Okay that’s good to hear ahah. Currently it’s in the fridge ready to grab and hand over. We’re moving away from offering it warm to kinda put him off the night milk in the hopes he’ll stop waking for it 🫣 and then if that doesn’t go to plan then it’s bye bye midnight milkies in the new year by the latest

No. It’s also bad for his teeth. It’s a sleep prop, so remove it from him falling asleep and he shouldn’t need it anymore…. If you want to stop that is.

Oatmilk is meant to be refrigerated. If it’ll be out more than 2 hours he should not be drinking it. Maybe find a shelf stable version? My boys drink ripple and they sell shelf stable versions of the same kids milk

Ah yeah of course!
