Had a txt message to book for the 27-month review.
Few concerns with some questions little one can't jump for example. He also flaps but only at home, he can't climb stairs by himself ( doesn't help being in a ground floor flat)
I wonder what they see as more of a concern. Also, what comes of the meeting if certain milestones are not met?
Early intervention? I hear too often about lack of funding in the health care sector and education, too, so I worry about that.
I like to think all children develop differently, but surely they have these questions for a reason š¤

I know 4 yo that can't jump. I didn't think that was an actual "milestone"

wait its not normal for them to not jump š mine doesnt either didnt even know! i suspect mine has autism due to me and his father having many symptoms of autism but sure its just unrelated x

I donāt think theyād see any of that as a concern to be honest, maaaybe the flapping but my 4yo flaps at home and thereās no concerns with her. Although I donāt think flapping comes up on the questionnaireā¦
Mine is terrified of stairs and does a more skippy thing rather than a jump!
If they have concerns they would usually just arrange to come out again in x amount of time.

For me itās the list of words they āshouldā be saying⦠my son can say ādinosaurā (not on the list) but canāt say ājuiceā (on the list) I think the review is just that, a review and definitely not something to worry about. If you have concerns you can raise them but if youāre happy with how your little one is doing then Iād just keep going as you are

They don't have to meet them all, it just gives an indication of where their strengths are. If they can't do any of the verbal or any of the physical then that might indicate some issues but there is a range of them hitting their general milestones (only having a couple of things they can't do) getting there (having a few more they can't do) or being behind. Again, this may or may not be a concern, I know a 4 year old who was "behind" on speaking until he was 3/1/2 and is now fine, with no intervention - they just monitored a bit but because he understood everything they were just waiting. At 4/1/2 he's totally normal....
