Anyone else given their babies kidney or other beans and it's taken a while to digest? I gave baby some kidney beans 8 days ago squished not pureed as we do BLW. And she just pooped it out almost intact so she must have swallowed it whole. Wondering if that's normal for beans to take so long to digest?!
She's still not really eating much and tends to lick/suck foods mainly and if she does swallow sometimes she's getting big chunks in her poo as she's not really chewing much yet. Which I know is normal but usually it'll be a max 2 days for the food to pass through. Is 8 days normal for certain foods?

I personally gave my almost 9 month old some heinz beans, also mashed but I didn’t have that issue. He usually goes for number two twice a day and I personally haven’t noticed any change in his bowel motions. He is also not keen on food yet, has few spoonfuls at best but we have 3 meals a day and 4 bottles of 6oz

Hahaha I gave my daughter baked beans a few months back at the beginning of weaning and about 2-3 days later they were fully intact in her nappy. Like had just dumped a tin in her nappy (only they were a bit browner lol). It made me laugh. For a while I could still identify the things I’d fed my daughter days earlier. Now it’s much more homogenised so her digestion is clearly working more now. It will happen for a bit tho!
