Joie i-prodigi

Hello I’m looking for a second car seat for partners car as well as two further seats for grandparents. We have the BeSafe beyond as our primary seat. I have come across the Joie i-prodigi which appears to be compatible to the beyond but much cheaper. I searched i-prodigi in the group search section to try to find out more but can see any posts where it’s referred to or recommended, is it not considered a good option? If not, why not? Also looking at Britax max safe pro or safe way m bit confused about the difference and worried about the lack of option to recline? Daughter is currently only 14 months and 25th centile for weight and height. Thanks in advance!

It’s big and bulky, not very many recline positions. Is there a reason you’re looking for such big car seats for a low centile child?xx

@Kiera I didn’t realise the ones I am looking at were big if I’m honest! I’ve now also been recommended the avionaut sky and the axkid mini kid 2. It all feels like such a minefield, I’ve got no idea which one to choose. Is there a particular seat you’d recommend? Myself and partner are a bit anxious about non isofix seats due to risk of not fitting them correctly and then being unsafe but not sure if we’re overthinking it.

@Victoria be safe izi twist we have, isofix, rotates. One of the most compact spin seats xx Plus Swedish plus tested xx

@Kiera thank you, so she’s unlikely to outgrow that? We want it to last as long as possible. Do you have a view on the avionaut sky or axkid mini kid 2 please?

@Victoria as long as she stays below 40/45 it will last util HBB age, around 6 years old. Multiply recline positions, spins side to side only. The sky is great and really compact for tall passengers or smaller cars. Minikid 2 is a great seat but I haven’t personally used it xx

We have also been looking at the i-prodigi but haven’t seen it in person and worried it will be bulky. Like you I’d prefer isofix. My daughter is 16 months and 50th centile for height and weight so I liked that the joie would last until she would be ready for a HBB. Thanks for sharing the be safe izi twist @Kiera, it looks like a great seat. Looking at the centile chart my daughter would only fit in this until 4.5 assuming she tracks her centiles. I’m also interested in the avionaut sky but nervous about lack of isofix

@Lisa its a basic version of the axkid ONE(1,2,3) ‘brand’ as such. It would entirely depend on the passenger height/car size/legroom needed. If anybody is on the taller side, or a smaller car. You would have issues with the Joie seat. Once the sky is fitted there is no need to take it out or adjust unless you need to swap cars, easily moved with a spare set of tethers left in other cars, it’ll take about 2/3 minutes once you know how, and super small. As long as you buy the sky from a reputable retailer, they offer online/whatsapp support which is great. Can you go and view them both to help you make your decision?xx
