So I’m 39 +6 and I’m booked in for tomorrow to have an induction. I’ve heard a lot of horror story’s about being induced and was just looking for some positive induction story’s if you had one? Also how long did you labour after having it done, thanks in advance ☺️

I was induced, it took a couple of days however I was only 35 weeks… the hormone drip does make the contraction pain stronger so definitely think about pain relief, I started the hormone drip around midnight, I was checked at 4am and still had some waters once they were popped he was born within 2 hours! My friend however went in to be induced and baby was here within 8 hours, keep moving around if you can and remember that you will be meeting your baby soon! Best of luck to you 💖💖
we have the same name! Haha thank you I’ve heard the hormone drip isn’t very nice but before today I was told I had to wait until I was 41 weeks so glad I haven’t got to wait any longer tbh! Just want him here now thank you for the reassurance ☺️ xx

No horror story here. Had waters broken at 11am, drip started at 1.30pm and baby born at 7.01pm. Drip does make contractions intense but I had an epidural when I was about 4cm and all was good 👍🏻

For me I was 39+5, I was 2.5cm before getting induced anyway so just had gel inserted to prep the cervix and my contractions started very quickly! The only negative I had was that this caused my contractions to come very fast when they should start off with longer intervals between at the start, so I had an injection to slow them down and it slowed them. Then my waters popped by themselves and I was really struggling with the pain so I went into a separate room instead of the ward (not sure why I can’t remember prob cos I was so loud😂) and I managed to get some sleep in there on and off. After I got to 4cm and was in the delivery suite I dilated 1cm per hour, I was in a lot of pain and was asking for the epidural at 3cm lol, once I got up to delivery suite I did it all only on gas and air 🤔 not sure why I changed my mind.. Started induction at 10pm and gave birth at 9.11pm the next day x

I was induced at 37+2 had my waters broken at 6am the hormone drip at half 6 and then baby was here by half 11, with only gas and air I wasn’t bothered what pain relief I had however I felt fine with just the gas and air!
Was a really lovely experience only gripe that I had was I had so many wires and monitors on checking baby I wasn’t able to move around as much as I had wanted and felt a little confined to the bed but as a whole was an absolutely experience❤️

that’s definitely a side of it no one pre warned me about! I expected to be able to move about as much as I wanted during labour I think I’d have been better knowing that beforehand x
Thank you everyone! ☺️ I can’t have an epidural due to having spina bifida I have opted to have gas and air and remifentanil as the perthadiyne can pass through to baby. Hoping I don’t have to have a c section as I’ll have to go under general and will then be under for the birth 😩

You’ll be absolutely fine without the epidural, it hurts like crazy don’t get me wrong but it is doable and as soon as they’re born all the pain disappears in an instant! xx
thank you ☺️

Induction started at 4am, by 6am contractions started, 10am waters started leaking (mine didn’t break all in one go like the movies, they were slowly leaking) and I had my daughter at 2:30am the next day. So about 22 hours for me beginning to end

I was induced & did gas & air no epidural… you can do it. What worked for me was finding my rhythm & breathing through the contraction using g&a
