Best bottles for breast fed babies?

I'm hoping to breast feed when baby arrives but also want to pump to take some pressure off me and allow my hubby to feed baby too, we also have a wedding when baby will be 2 months old and MIL will be babysitting so really want to establish both bottle and breast early on. What bottles would you reccommend for babies who are breast fed? Tommee tippee advertise their bottles as being the best for breast fed babies and they currently have 50% off code available so I'm looking at these but would love some recommendations. Also any tips for breast fed babies taking a bottle are also welcome! TIA

Lansinoh 100%! X

We found the mam ones the best. One tip would be to make sure to not go too many days without giving baby a bottle and just breastfeeding. Some (including mine) seem to forget how to do it and then it’s a battle to get them to use one again

I tried many brand and Tommee worked out best for both of my babies.

The NUK ones were best for my LG, she didn’t like the Tommee Tippee ones yet has the Tommee Tippee breast like dummies x

I second this!! The only bottles my bf baby will take

We got a box from babylist with a few different bottles. I also signed up for some free stuff and got a few more bottles from different companies, including Philips, Dr brown etc.. My son didn’t have any preference and we were able to use all of them as needed.

My baby never had an issue between bottle brands. But the brands with a really small base like Dr. Browns, I found would affect his latch on my breast like ALOT. He stopped opening his mouth as wide thinking he didn’t need to. So we’ve been liking Boon Nursh bottles. His latch is affected negatively sometimes but it’s a lot better than the other brands that we tried.

Hi, I only pumped for about a week but used MAM bottles for that time that my breastfed baby took to easily. Just make sure you used a small teat size.
I found that pumping was just too much work for me, breastfeeding felt like less work and my husband could get involved in other ways. The sterilising of bottles and pump just felt like too much work too 🤣

We tried several bottles with my son. The small base affected my sons latch as well. Nuk, Tommie tippe and mam. He didn't like any of them. He finally took to the nanobebe bottles. The My advice is every baby is different and is get the box that Zoi mentioned. Don't buy a bunch of one brand because they may not like it. Buy one of many different brands to find the one baby takes the best.

We’ve used tommee tippee for both girls and they’ve done well! I’d say those, boon, or como tomo they were what were recommended to me

I’ve heard people like lansinoh and Mōmi bottles.

My son will only take the Phillips avent “natural” bottles.

Hi Hannah, use Lanisoh Natural Wave bottles and teats. This post from my blog may also be helpful for you https://bumpbirthandboobs.co.uk/blog/postnatal/introducing-a-bottle/ Message me if any concerns.

I also have a breastfeeding course to be taken during pregnancy which you may find useful for your preparation https://bumpbirthandboobs.co.uk/online-breastfeeding-course/

I am actually going to be trying out the nanobebe bottles. They are shaped like the breast

Mam glass bottles worked for me and introduced early on around 4 weeks 🙂

I exclusively pump and use the Philips avent bottle and it’s been great so far. I use the glass one

Tommee Tippee probably the least tbh, the shape is nothing like a nipple. I'll find a post from a fab Instagram page of some recommendations. Lansinoh for sure but it's also important to remember that every baby is different! X

Don't buy loads of one bottle until you know what one your baby will take to. My little girl didn't like the Tommee Tippee ones but has got on really well with Mam bottles. We introduced a bottle about 5 weeks old and do one bottle a day. Best to get your husband to introduce the bottle and you not be in the room so they can't smell your milk.

Thanks everyone for all the great advice and reccomendations!😊

My breastfed baby hates lansinoh, which is annoying because everyone said they were the best because of the teat shape but he just can't get on with it. We tried tommee tippee tonight and he liked that a lot better.

We used mam first then dr brown but baby would have either and still happily have boob

Lansinoh is all my bf baby will take

I used NUK originally and even the newborn ones were too fast flow for my baby he kept choking so we use Tommee Tippee now and they are amazing

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.

Did I overreact?

I have had 3 c sections, recently had a wisdom teeth removal (4) to be exact and all my mom did was visit the day BEFORE and then she only sent 1 text. She has NEVER spent one full day with me and doesn’t acknowledge my achievements much. She just isn’t there when I need her to be. She claims she’s always working but she lives like 7 minutes away! she can come help with the kids so my husband can have break? we don’t ask her for much and she only sees the kids 1-2 a month. She also didn’t visit with my last c section. I told her that she should’ve gotten the abortion when she had the chance with me because why would you have me and neglect me emotionally? To not actually give me a present father in my life. I am very angry all she does is disappoint me. She only wants to show up for certain people in the family and I just want to grab her and shake her and ask her why can’t she be a good present mother?
