So how do you guys handle the day to day having a little one and a newborn - while physically recovering? For example, I wouldn’t be able to lift my 17-month old in the car seat or crib while recovering from a c-section. Do you just schedule help those first few weeks? Don’t go anywhere..? Other? 🫠

You can use a toddler bed instead of a crib? Your oldest can climb in and out of a toddler bed with out having to be lifted. My son was giant and he had to go to a toddler bed and he loved being a big boy when my other son was born. It made that transition a little easier.

I’ve been considering that but worried I’d have to chase her it she doesn’t want to sleep.. maybe I can try and see before baby comes. Most parents I talked to have said it was a hard transition but your experience is at least encouraging

I did minimal lifting but did lift in and out of car and cot and was absolutely fine just had to take ot easy. I asked the midwife and she said you have to do what you have to do but be careful and listen to your body x

I was driving after 4 weeks and pretty much back to my normal self by 3 weeks- down on the floor playing, walks. I'd say plenty of keeping moving really helped me x

thanks, I tried to move a lot after my first and I think it does help

Keep in mind that some doctors advise not to drive for 6 weeks after a C section. My friend had to wait for that long after.

@Susie yeah some Dr's may advise this. Mine said as soon as I felt safe enough to perform an emergency stop. My friends dr said same. We were both driving around 4 weeks after x

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!
