Axkid minikid2 or Britax Max Safe Pro

Need help deciding between these two car seats and I’m stuck! Apart from the Axkid being a bit more compact, does anyone else have a personal review of either of them to help me decide? 🤞🏼

We haven't had the Britax max so can't really comment on that.
But we've used the Minikid 2 with our eldest since he was just under a year and no complaints really! He's very comfortable in it and always happy to get in.
We've just bought another for our baby.
Only thing is we have to have it on full recline else he still gets headflop when he's asleep which I personally don't like. Not sure whether that would be the case with the Britax as we've never tried it. But it means there's very little room on the passenger side at the front.. I'm not sure whether my husband will be able to drive the car once we have the second minikid behind the drivers seat. (Renault kadjar)
But as I say, a small price to pay for our lovely seat. Nearly 2 years in and still as good as new. X

We bought a Max safe pro for our childminder and she’s happy with it. We have the Axkid Movekid ourselves and we’re happy with that too. The minikid 2 only goes to 25kg though right? Depending on your child’s centiles might help decide as the max safe pro is 36kg

We love the Axkid minikid 2. My son never complains about the seat. But depends on your baby centile as well as minikid just until 25kg and max pro till 36kg as I believe

Thanks everyone. For those with the Max safe pro, do you find it bulky compared to other car seats? My girl is on the 25th percentile, 14kg at 3, so I think the axkid would be fine if we went for that x

yeah my son on 25th centile as well x. The max safe pro is bigger than minikid. I want buy the max safe pro before but end up buying minikid so the front seat still have space.

oh wait I’ve just re-checked and at her last weigh in, she was between the 50th and 75th percentile…

The Britax max safe pro has had issues with the fabrics when it was first released not sure if that has been remedied yet… we have the one previous to it and love it but have also used the axkid in a friends car and loved that too. It’s definitely more compact vs Britax

I have various seats (I am addicted)
I don’t have minikid 2 I have the 4 and it is the most compact of the 36kg ones. Also have max safe pro too.

Between the minikid 2 and max safe pro good to know the following:
-max safe pro is bigger than minikid 2, who is more compact
-max safe pro will last longer both in height and weight. Although minikid doesn’t have a set height the back length is longer in max safe pro
-max safe pro doesn’t have recline functionality but has a deep seat that can be used from 3 months approx or 61cm where minikid can be installed with recline but kid doesn’t get a good fit if less than 10 months.
-max safe pro has had some reported issues with some fraying of the strap that you pull to make tighter but still a very safe car seat.

Currently you can find movekid for about £265-315 so if you can afford extra and you want an Axkid seat I would suggest to upgrade to movekid that goes up to 36kg and has the longest back length for kids with longer torso

Also since you are in Scotland I would suggest DMB Car seats in Inverurie or little peas near Fife. Little peas have a 5% off when you sign up or shop with them for the first time

We have a Britax Max-Safe Pro which we bought to replace an Axkid Move.

I like the Max-Safe. It's reasonably easy to install (tethers could be a bit easier but they're not too bad), feels well made, fabrics are nice quality and it's comfy for LO. We have it installed in the front of my Focus and there's enough legroom behind for my 6'2" husband to sit comfortably, although we normally have a spin seat behind it (again, plenty of space). It's easy enough to use day-to-day as well.

I absolutely hated the Move, it was supposed to be fairly compact but in the most compact setting took up a lot of space and when reclined enough to reduce (not prevent) head flop it was absolutely huge. Absolute nightmare to install, ridiculously stiff to tighten the harness, and honestly just felt really cheap and nasty. Minikid 2 is obviously not the same but similar, and when I tested it in the shop I couldn't get the harness to tighten all in one go so the headrest locked too high which is obviously not safe.

Thanks for your comments everyone. I’ve decided to get one of each for each car and see how we go! 🤣

Is there any correlation between sleeping through the night and types of feeding?

Did your baby age 0-6months sleep through the night, 6 hours or more, and how were they fed? It always see like formula fed babies sleep through the night sooner than breastfed babies.

Sleeping through

If your baby is sleeping through the night are you ever nervous about saying that to other parents with babies of the same age? My toddler no longer sleeps through without coming into our bed but did until about 11 months old and now my 11 week old has been sleeping solid for 3 or 4 weeks now. I always feel like I can’t say it to other mums because it comes across like I’m showing off…I know what the sleep deprivation feels like and how you can just resent anyone for anything🤣 but I kind of feel like I can’t relate sometimes.

Hey everyone *im New here* 👋🏼

This is probably normal, My baby is six weeks today - in the daytime after a feed, change and tummy time he will go to sleep with no fussing etc in his DockAtot ( supervised ) i have now been taking him into his next to me instead for a nap as newborns sleep all the time.

But in his next to me hes very fussy and moves about a lot .. this is also the same in the night time, any suggestions?

Thank you ❤️x
