midwives vs partners
Has anyone else had a negative experience with midwives treating your boyfriend/husband/ male partner poorly? It started with pre natal appointments where he was completely ignored, wasnโt asked if he had any questions or anything. I know itโs the woman whoโs pregnant but he often left those appointments feeling like a spare part, despite trying to be as involved as he could.
My partner was incredibly supportive during labour, but in that tense senario all I needed was his hand to hold and squeeze, I didnโt need any more physical/ verbal support and the midwifeโs made comments like โtell her sheโs doing a good jobโ and I thought it was so unnecessary. This was our second child so I knew what I wanted and needed from him and weโd discussed this prior.
Appointments after birth were just the same. When the midwife came to our home to visit I was holding the baby and happened to be walking past the door when she arrived, so I opened the door and led her in. After doing th checks on our baby she made a snide comment like โweโll give baby to dad so mam can get some restโ Little did she know heโd been up with him all night while I had 10 hours uninterrupted sleep. My partner had privately voiced his insecurities on not feeling like he was doing enough, especially in those early days. The constant condescending tones from health professionals made this so much worse and he put so much pressure on himself as a result.
Maybe itโs just my district but has anyone else had any experiences like this?
Undersupply
I am 8 weeks postpartum, I pump every 3 hours and I do a power pumping once a day, I drink lots of water, oats, under armour. And all I can get is 1 oz per boob every 3 hours, my question here is.
Am I going to be able to produce more ? Momโs that were undersupply, were you able to produce more ? After all the power pumping, oats, supplements etc
My baby doesnโt latch and if he does after 2 minutes he gets super fussy. I donโt want to give up but at this point I just want to know if I ever going to get more ๐ it is mentally exhausting.
Baby daddy and his wife
Hey! I dont usually post on air out dirty laundry but I could use some new perspectives and advice on my son's situation! He is almost 7 years old and has had a stepmom since he was about 2. She moved in very quickly after the dad and I separated, they got married, and she was the sole breadwinner. Went to every appointment, every transition day, tried to make medical decisions, etc. Then she got pregnant and had a baby who is now 6 months old. Since she began trying to have a baby, her and my son began having relationship issues. Now that she has a baby, it is worse between them. He told me that he had a night terror about his stepmom shooting him and that when he told her about it, she responded to him by telling him to not talk about violence around her or her baby. His dad has also become distant and misses important events due to his wife's input it mostly appears.
Im concerned for my son and unfortunately concerned for my ex even though he was not good to me, I worry about him for the sake of my son who loves him. What on earth do I make of this situation and weird vibes???
Also note he has had a stepdad for the last 2 years now and I also have another baby with said stepdad, our daughter is 2 months old. He doesnt appear to have the same issues with my husband, they dont always get along, but their relationship seems strong and independent of me nurturing it.
Thank you for reading!!!!!
