My 6 month old has been sleeping in a Baby Merlin’s Magic Sleepsuit since she was 3 months old. She is transitioning from a Snoo bassinet to a crib. She has rolled from her back to her belly a few times now while asleep in the sleepsuit. So I know it is time for her to come out of it, but I was wondering about sleep sacks to keep warm at night. Has anyone used one for their little one and how safe would you say the weighted ones are? I have a Dreamland 8 pound weighted sleep sack that we got as a gift that has not been used

There is a lot of controversy on these, but the dreamland sacks are safe (imo) for a 6 month old. The sleep sacks weigh less than a pound. My baby does amazing in it.

The 8 pound weighted sleep sack means it is for a baby that is at least 8 pounds. Not that the sack is 8 pounds.

My 6 month old sleeps in a quarter-sleeve sleep sack and it’s perfectly fine. She is able to roll onto her stomach and back onto her back in it.

Both my babies were also in the snoo and they have regular sacks without the wings if you want to transition to those! We also used Merlin but my little guy is out of that and now we use Burt’s bees sleep sacks they are super soft and warm!

My daughter had one she got from my fiancé's sister-in-law, who is a newborn specialist and sleep consultant, so I'm assuming they're safe. I never used it because I didn't look into them. But my girl uses the regular no sleeved sleep sacks. They work great for our morning routine.. a quick diaper change when she wakes up and back to sleep she goes. I prefer sleep sacks over footed pj's. She rolls both ways and sleeps anyway she can, and we haven't any safety issues.

My 2 year old has been using his dreamland weighted sleep sacks since he was 5 months old and has been an amazing sleeper since. Our 6 month old has been using his since 4 months old and also has been doing great with it. One of my best 3am impulse buys with my first kid!

Its safe because my baby rolls anywhere he wants. Not sure if it helps him sleep better but i use it everyday.
