Pain over left ovary, 6+4 weeks pregnant

I’ve had a throbbing pain over my left ovary for about 12 hours, it comes and goes and isn’t terribly painful. Called the midwives and they said to call the gp as they can’t provide care until I’m 14 weeks pregnant. Gp are taking time to get back to me.

Anyone ever experience left side ovary pain in early pregnancy before? What happened? I’m worried something is wrong 😞

I would call the GP and ask to be referred to the early pregnancy unit. Have you had any bleeding?

To put your mind at ease, I had this as well and so could be growing pains. But if it’s really bad don’t be afraid to get it checked. X

I had this at about 10/11 weeks pregnant, and when I called my midwife she arranged for me to get an emergency scan at the maternity unit to rule out an ectopic pregnancy. Was all fine in the end luckily and I was a little further along than you are right now but it doesn't sound right when they say they can't provide care until 14 weeks!

I had one sided pains from 5 weeks. As others have said you need to call your GP and get referred to EPAC to rule out an ectopic. They will scan you from 6 weeks. Mine wasn’t an ectopic but I had a large cyst on my ovary. Quite common in pregnancy and most of them (including mine) tend to shrink after 12ish weeks. I had 2 weekly scans until then. 1st pregnancy they were massive 8-10cm, 2nd pregnancy they were much smaller 5-6cm, felt both.

thank you for commenting! No bleeding or any sign anything could be wrong, and the pain isn’t even really that bad but it’s definitely there. I’ve asked my GP for a referral, hoping they get back to me soon. I’m so glad to hear you had something similar and it was just growing pains. I don’t care about having pain as long as I know baby is okay 😞

thank you so much for commenting with your experience. It’s so difficult to find any reliable information online about this stuff, I didn’t even know cysts could cause this! I’ve had cysts in the past so I wouldn’t be surprised if this was the case for me. Have contacted the GP and asked for a referral to the EPU to rule out an ectopic, just hoping they get back to me soon 🤞🏼

thank you for commenting with your experience! I’ve contacted my GP and asked for a referral to the EPU now. I know, I couldn’t believe it..! It’s already hard enough knowing who to go to for pregnancy related queries, feeling like the midwives aren’t even an option until 14 weeks is not nice!

Thank you so much for the advice ladies! My GP managed to get me an appointment with the EPU today and I’ve been seen and baby is exactly where it’s supposed to be and exactly the right size! My ovaries are fine also, no cysts. Just being checked for a UTI now to see if that’s the culprit. Overall no issues or concerns with my pregnancy, I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome 🥰❤️

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
