makes total sense if you don’t feel a bond right away or even for a while, because you’re essentially in survival mode for a long time. you’re providing and worrying and exhausted and it’s not exactly picture perfect when you come home from the hospital. it may take a while, but once life as slowed down a bit you’ll be able to stop and smell the flowers

I had terrible PND when having my first, and I felt like this. The only thing I felt helped me personally was that I was breastfeeding so I had to bond in that way with her, otherwise think I’d have struggled more personally.
It’s hard being a mum. Everyone says “oooh it’s so easy to bond” well it’s not, especially if you had any trauma having them or being pregnant!
