I am struggling on how to start potty training. Everything I see says to do stickers or candy like m&ms. She can’t do stickers yet because she will eat them, and she can’t have m&ms and most candy because she is allergic to milk protein (different from lactose). Does anyone have any ideas?

I started my big girl at 14 months, since she is little still we are just doing it at bath time. Diaper comes off, right onto the potty for her to try before the tub. She holds onto a bath toy and maybe the running water helps but so far 4 out of 5 attempts have given us a peepee!

Make sure u have incentives

It's different for each child in my opinion. I did my daughter at 18 months no issues. My son just turned 3 and has no interest. He'll potty in the morning sometimes, but then to do it throughout the day is tough.

Ugh. I tried today with my 26 month old and no luck. I think I made her hate the potty as many times as we went. So I stopped trying, cause I didn’t want to make it worse for her in the future.

When I started it the first time I didn't use candy or anything, I just got really excited and said yay and clapped my hands lol, it made her happy about it
My daughter is 2 and isn't potty trained yet, her doctor said not to rush it and if she's interested to do it but there will be times where she's not interested and forcing her would only make it more stressful
