Hi ladies. Looking for advice. I’m looking at booking a holiday and I’ll be 28 weeks on the day of return. It’s to Crete. I’ve researched the hospitals. They have neonatal units. I’m just being super paranoid.
My last baby was an emergency section at 37 weeks due to placenta praevia. We don’t have that issue this time as placenta is high.
To add. This is an ivf pregnancy and we needed 4 transfers to get pregnant. This isn’t helping my anxiety.
Please reassure me or give me advice 🤣🙏🏼 thanks.

Hi Grace - following
I have a low lying placenta and I’m going on my bby moon this week will return in 4 days 👀

I just got back from holiday at 27 weeks. What I would say is that I fly loads usually so am used to it and thought it would be a breeze but flying at 27 weeks was not the best experience. Had to get up to wee so much, squeezing into an economy seat and staying in one position for 5 hours was tough. Maybe think about extra legroom if you can just to make it a little bit more comfortable but 100% worth it for getting some sun, but the flight was pretty grim!

I’ve booked a holiday for my 27 weeks and returning at 28 weeks! I know sometimes anxiety gets over you but you’ll really need the holiday before the baby comes!

Hey. True advice. Don’t do it.
I had a holiday booked October 2024 and was due January 2025. I was nervous as I had a low lying placenta. The nearest hospital was 20 mins away and it was the Costa Del Sol hospital so had a good maternity unit. I went still but it was way tougher than I thought. I found the queuing in airports to board so so hard. Anyway I ended up having a bleed at 34 weeks from low laying placenta and he was born by emergency C section 6 weeks early.
Looking back on I now, would I go away this pregnant again? No way

Hey I am currently away on holiday in the Canary Islands I am 27 weeks and returning 28 weeks. If you have had no other issues in this pregnancy then I would say go for it I have loved floating in the pool every day (helped hip/bodg aches after the long travel day) and just enjoying relaxing! I was so so worried and I have had my normal pregnancy anxiety but my bubba is still wiggling away letting me know everything is okay. I got a fit to fly note from both my GP and my midwife just to be sure as they will know if you would be safe to fly for you as they know your history etc and may be able to advise! I wore compressions socks on the plane and made sure I got up to move every hour or moved my feet and legs whilst seated and this helped xx

I went away at 27 wks. Came back 27+6.
Everything was totally fine. Also have low lying placenta. I don’t fly often at all so was worried on the flight out but like I say- everything was totally fine x

You'll be fine I'm sure, some airlines request you have a fit to fly form filled in if travelling over 28 weeks, I came back yesterday and no one asked to see mine though. Wear some flight socks, take care of yourself and enjoy your holiday!
