I left for the first time my 18 months old. It's gonna be for 2,5 weeks. For works and family urgent issues. I m 8000 km away from him and with 8 hours time difference. Quite hard for me and I can see he is not such a happy baby now. Did you experience something similar ? How did your baby cope?
I had no choice to go but this is kind of heartbreaking to see him so serious.

Is your baby with someone you trust and with someone they are used to? I left for days before, not weeks, but my baby was with her grandma, someone she loves. She was sad happy then sad after a few days, but then she was happy again because they took good care of her. I would find ways to cope for yourself as well ❤️.

I had a work trip for 1 week once when she was 7 months and another time when she was like 10 months.
She stayed with dad.
When dad travels I stay alone with her, when I travel he stays alone with her. Well, sometimes we also fly my mother in law. They really help when we are alone.

I left for a week & came back to a very high separation anxiety baby.. it took about 1.5/2 weeks for him to relax again when I left the room. It was so sad & also very straining for me but it will get better!
Thanks for your feedbacks. It s been almost a week now. Communication is hard sometimes. He is ok but yeah. That's so weird. Still 10 days to go back home.
