I’m a FTM due in the next few weeks. I was just wondering when people typically start leaving the house with baby for the first time?
I know everyone is different but I think I was have unreasonable expectations on how quickly I’ll be out and about!

I was in hospital for 3 days then took baby out for a walk the day after he came home so, 4 days old x

I went shopping when he was a day old but that’s because I’m mental 😂 it was a more get out of the house thing because my mental health suffers if I stay at home for long periods of time, I was clinging to the pram for dear life though so I wouldn’t recommend

I could barely walk for first few days so probably day 4? I did a small walk with my partner, baby and dogs

can get out whenever you feel comfortable! i took a stroll into town with the baby when he was 2 days old, went to a restaurant for a meal out when he was 6 days old, etc, i had a very easy birth, vaginal water birth, labour lasted 8 hours from waters breaking to his arrival and felt i could get around and do stuff virtually straight after, i felt more capable than i thought i was going to be! xx

I was in hospital for a week after my lil girl was born but after we got home had to go out 2 days later for appointment so 2 days after discharge really

I had my first child naturally and was walking into my local village on day 2, I absolutely would not recommend 😂🤦🏻♀️ my 2nd daughter was via C section and it was day 4, we just went to Costa and then home as I was already getting cabin fever and missing driving (my partner drove!)

2 days old, probably would have been sooner if I could move but I had a c section x

With my first it was day 5 with my second day 3 but I walked too far and regretted it when I got home. Stuck to 10-15mins for the next couple weeks

A week.

Day 3, 5 and 6 we had to drive to go see the midwife … I went for my first walk to get a takeaway coffee on day 5 and it was hard and tender down below but felt good to get fresh air xx

When i was invited for baby's 5 day checkups 😀

A week after my baby was born via c section

The day after because I had to take my eldest to school so had no choice x

A week old, we were in hospital for the first three days afterwards and then when we got home, I was so exhausted and felt like a zombie constantly x

We were in hospital the first week and then went to the pub with the baby the day we were discharged - the sun was shining and I was so blooming happy to be out of the hospital 😂

I had an emergency c section was kept in hospital for 2 days, so was probably about day 3 or 4 after being home

Day 5 as you go to the midwives visit

2 days old but I had a fast birth with no strong painkillers or stitches so felt fine from the get go x

Day 3 I had to go to the supermarket 😅

Day 2 of being home! As soon as you feel up to it!

Short walk when he was 2 days old.
Thanks all, this makes me feel better as I was starting to get the impression it could be weeks and I hadn’t anticipated being housebound for weeks 🙈

Day 3, I needed OUT! C section too. We walked to the pub for lunch x

Straight awayyyy the quicker you get out the better you can get use to being out and about with the baby x

My baby is 12 days old and we had our first walk to town today xx

Daughter would have been 5day (first 3 in hospital) although our outing was the midwife out patients appointment and then pick up a takeaway coffee before heading home. The correct answer is whenever you feel ready to leave the house x

Would’ve been when my lil one was 5 days old, had to go get his heel prick done and went and got coffee afterwards and had a look round some shops x

I think my little boy was 2 weeks old when we took him out for the first time.

Day 3 for a hospital trip and then day 7 for a walk

I went out the day after my little girl was born. Big mistake I was losing huge clots and my insides felt like thry was going to fall out of me. I went to get checked and was told to stay home and rest in bed. I was in bed and resting for 2 weeks it was horrible. Listen to your body. Start of with little outings just around your street etc then go a bit further xx

The day after because i was hungry, didn't want anything in the house and was bored🤣my boy tore me 4 different ways so you can imagine how i was walking and how long it took me to do a 20 minute walk🤓xxx
