Bit of a long shot

But are any of you ladies registered at st Helier hospital, and have you got a 20 week scan appointment? Ive just been told on the phone they’re not currently able to offer them!

I was told that I'd receive the 20 week scan appointment a couple of weeks in advance. How long until you're 20 weeks?

I’m at Croydon hospital so maybe their process is different but they book your 20 week scan when you are at the hospital after your 12 week scan as they have the exact dates then.

I was told they’d book it after the 12 week scan but I’m 17 weeks now and still nothing but I’ve got all the other appointments up until 41 weeks. I asked at my 16 week appointment and they said it was missed because I have a consultant appointment at week 19 and to call the appointment team. So I called them today and they said they can’t book anyone in because they haven’t got the sonographers rotas. I asked how far out they usually get that so I can plan work and childcare and they said they don’t know and won’t offer anyone routine scans for the time being

Oh that seems rubbish, they’re pretty strict on when they can do it, Easter caused some issues with getting it at 20 weeks and they really didn’t want to book it the following week as it would be too late. Might be worth trying your midwives again to ask for advice or maybe they can contact on your behalf!

@Siobhan argh that's frustrating. Did they say whether you've been added to a waiting list or anything?

Avatar

Oh trying the midwives is a good idea. I didn’t think to ask about a waiting list and they didn’t mention one, I might try them again tomorrow. It’s relieving to hear you guys say it sounds frustrating, I was starting to think I was going mad or something. I’m sure I didn’t have to chase so much when I had my first, but that was a different hospital and I guess they’re all different

What does that even mean not able to offer them! They have the check baby!! What is happening xx

I had mine on Thursday and it got booked straight after my 12 week scan, I’d call the midwives I’m sure they’d get you an appointment!

Contact PALS for advice if you don’t get anywhere when you call them x

Me! I only saw mine on badger on Friday and it’s for next Wednesday so very glad my little one is at the childminder other wise would’ve been very difficult with such little notice

@Siobhan I called St Helier Antenatal appointments reception this morning because I also didn't have my 20 weeks scan booked in and she said that some appointments have opened up today, so maybe give them a ring if you haven't already 🤞🏾

Thank you all for coming back to me and for the reassurance that I wasn’t going mad 😂 honestly this tiredness and the hormones have got me all over the place and I was stressing about this a lot! I’ve just had a check on badger notes and an appointment has dropped in!

Period like cramps

Hi
I’m currently 33 weeks pregnant and I keep getting period like cramps I thought these were Brixton hicks but I’ve heard they only last 30 seconds ish as this can go on for a good time frame then go away and come back, they aren’t bad enough where I can’t do basic things they just feel like I’m about to get my period I’m jus wondering how normal this is? Baby is still very actively kicking xx

Day out after c section

Hey,
I had an emergency c section 1 week ago I obviously don't want a day out right now but I have things booked for the Easter holidays so in 2 weeks. I was just wondering if I will be overdoing it if I have a day out then or will I be ok? I would still take it as easy as I could. When did everyone feel good enough to go out?

C section or natural?

I am a control freak and thinking c section is the least stressful route for me and baby… less complications during labour etc. whilst acknowledging recovering can be hard.
If it could be guaranteed no tearing or complications then I would opt for natural and kind of want to experience the feeling.
Then again could plan and go either way 😂 arghh!
Anyone else in this predicament?

Midwife check

Can someone remind me when the midwife visits you at home? Is it the day after you’re discharged? And is that the same on the weekend or do they not visit then? Thanks!

Anyone else’s owlet pi##ing them off ?!?! It goes off 5/6 a night saying it can’t get a reading and needs a snug fit. My baby is 8 months old so moves a lot. It is driving me insane and I keep end up taking it off!!
