Instant waking

So since last night every time I transfer baby into his next to me, he lifts his hips/legs up then when he slams his legs down wakes himself up?? This is new.

I know the answer is to teach him to put himself to sleep but that’s another battle

Any ideas? We tried about 8 transfers last night and he woke at every single one.

It's called whale tail 😆 it's just a new skill he's learned. If he's not crying don't pick him up. It can actually be part of the self soothing behaviour as he's getting his wiggles out before sleep.

Our son does this too and to start with it would wake him up but it now helps him to self soothe. Very odd but it seems to work for him 😂

We had this with my daughter last week. She would wake up every time I put her down. I found that if she was actively sucking her dummy, she would more often stay asleep whereas if she had dropped it out and looked like she was in a deep sleep, then she would wake 🙄 it was a battle of timings.

The leg slamming is a self soothing thing, although so loud and difficult! My son did it to the point that we had to move him into his own room just before 6 months.

unfortunately every time he wakes up he screams 🥲

Ah I’m glad it’s normal then lol, hopefully it stops waking him up so much soon! we had 4 failed transfers by 11pm last night 😅 so after that it was time to co-sleep.

Baby cutlery

Out of curiosity.
If we have to sterilise baby bottles, dummy’s ect.
Do we also sterilise baby cutlery?

Moving while asleep

My 12 week old has been sleeping through the night (8 hours) for the last week and a half and since the 3rd or 4th night he's been wriggling his way to the other end of his crib to the point where his head is cocked to the side
He seems fine but it looks uncomfortable and ive always been told he needs to have his feet touching the bottom of his bed and if I move him back he wakes up.
Has anyone else experienced this? Did you leave it? Are there any potential issues if I do leave it?

5 am wake up🫩🥱

My 3 year old … lately has been waking at 5am 😭
I’m exhausted!

He winds down half an hour before bed - we get ready for bed, each of us read a book each, kisses and cuddles, a drink of water and up to bed. He goes down easy, I sit for 2 minutes literally and he’ll self sooth himself to sleep by 7:30pm he’s out! But the past 3 days he’s been waking and coming into my bed at 5am … me thinking he’ll go sleep he’ll just toss and turn and wants to go down…

Anyone in the same boat?

Help

Hi mamas! Has anyone dealt with their baby’s hair clumping at the back of their head? I tried baby oil to loosen it but no luck so far. Any advice?

Blood in baby’s poo

Ladies, I’ve just changed my baby and noticed some blood on his poo and on the diaper. The poo was quite soft, not pebbly and he wasnt straining or anything like that. Anyone had anything like this before? What is it? Shall i call the GP?

Struggling

My baby’s 5 weeks old and I am really struggling. I knew it would be hard but it’s so much harder in reality. She won’t be put down without waking up after 5 minutes. Won’t be put down at night either. I can’t do anything without doing it one handed holding her. Every night she spends hours being stressed and crying and really difficult to console, fighting sleep and nothing I do seems to help her for more than 30 seconds. I’m just putting this out there wondering if others are going through the same. It’s a lot.
