How much does your baby eat

Hello,

How much does your baby eat?

My boy is 4 months (17 + 5 weeks) and he weights 7kg (born 3.5kg)
Sometimes I have feeling he is eating too much…
From yesterday I had to start giving him more food as he started crying after food and asking for more. (100% formula)
He eats around 1.3L in 24 hours (6 feeds with 5 being during the day and 1 overnight) . On internet it says baby can eat 150-200ml per 1kg body weight so in theory my baby can eat max 1.4L so it would tell me he is not eating too much… just on higher end.
Then on internet it says baby shouldn’t eat more than 32oz (900ml) in 24 hours. So I’m a bit confused…

Honestly I would just go with babys cues, they’ll tell you when they’re hungry and when they’re not hungry. My little boy is formula fed and has 5 bottles per day as he sleeps through the night and I offer him 8oz and he’ll take whatever he wants to take sometimes the full 8oz - maybe up his ounces intake?

My boy is almost 5 months too and started asking for more milk. We're combi feeding so I can't tell you exactly how much he eats but he went from 120ml of formula per feed to 150ml. On the formula tin it says he should have 210ml of water (so the formula would be about 240ml) 5 times a day for his age. Which comes to 1.2L so it's similar. I'd say don't worry he is eating well! Babies are really good at regulating how much they need, so try not to worry too much about overfeeding. I felt the same, but my health visitor reassured me that it’s very unlikely to overfeed a baby — the main concern would be if they weren’t eating enough.

They can also vary day to day so yesterday she had around 1.1L, but the day before only about 840ml as she was a bit fussy (I think from teething) and didn’t want her bottles as much so made up for it.

I also worried she wasn’t gaining enough weight because she was 9/10 times under the recommended 150–200ml per kg, but she’s continued to gain weight on her trend in the red book.
Every baby is different, as long as he is gaining weight, having the right number of nappies, and seem generally content, you’re doing an amazing job mumma ❤️

I’ve got a tall hungry boy. He’s 4months and 8kg and has recently moved up to 7oz bottles - he averages around 35oz a day but on a really hungry day he’s done 40oz 🥲

My boy is 4 months and weighs 17lbs / 7.7kg, meaning his intake should be 1150 - 1540ml in 24 hrs, I was shocked by this as he doesn’t eat that much. He has 1080ml most days and some days he’ll only want 900mls… but he’s gaining weight well on the 75th Percentile, he also had fetal macrosomia. I think just feed responsively, if baby isn’t vomiting after feeds or a lot through the day then you’re probably not overfeeding!

Is it cheating

My husband just told me that at work he and his male friends/coworkers pinch each others nipples as like a joke, I think it’s inappropriate and it’s cheating in a way and he does not agree he thinks it’s just funny and nothings wrong with it

Deodorant

Ladies what deodorant are we all using?

Since the sun has finally remembered to exist and we've been going on more walks I STINK. I smell like I've been laying on the beach in the sun covered in oil all day. All just after going for a walk.

I know a lot of people struggle with this postpartum but it's so embarrassing!

I just can't seem to find one that works for me?

Help!?!

First wake window

How do you spend first wake window with your baby?
I am not morning person so I struggle to be all happy at 6-7am 🤣 and since first one is quite short (1.5 hrs - what is yours btw? 🤔) then what do you do in that time?
I won’t lie. Baby wakes up at 6.30am and I’m just waking up slowly on my own for the first 30 min while he is chilling next to me 🙈
Do you stay in bed and play there or do you leave bed and move around etc?

5 ounces of formula every 3 hours?

Hi,

My 6 week old is having 5 ounces of formula every 3 hours like clockwork. He is 4&1/2 kg and the doctors are very surprised. Is this normal?

Doctors said a baby of this age should be having 3 ounces. And i should look to reduce the amount but Baby cries after i give him 3 ounces but calm when hes had 5 ounces.

6 week old wont wake for bottle

Hi all, my little one has been unusually sleepy the past few days and has been much quieter. When she is fussing , its not her usual cries and high pitched moans, shes been moaning in a very low pitch which almost sounds like extremely weak cries.

Shes been asleep for almost 4 hours, which is unusual for the day. Usually she gets hungry every 2 hours so ive changed her nappy and tried to wake her about an hour ago and had no luck.

Tried talking to her and stroking her and shes just been a little jumpy but still not woke up.

Is this normal, im worried she may be ill but there arent any other signs like a fever/ high temp/ or sniffles.
