Maybe a stupid question

How do you know what time to put your baby for a nap.
Until now I’ve just let her lead but that’s always been with milk . I know need to try something different. She’s 9 months old.

I put my little boy down every 3/3.5 hours... Usually has 2 naps

No not a stupid question at all! I was the exact same and then my baby started just not napping at all and would get overtired and nothing would really get her down that easily. Sounds abit silly but honestly following her wake window time for her age works a dream and then just making sure we follow a similar routine best I can, so i think for her age (she’s also 9 months) her wake window should be between 2.75 and 3.75 hours. In the morning she goes down for her morning nap after 2hours and then her afternoon one is usually after 3 and a half hours! (obviously gunna be real here and say it doesn’t always go to plan especially if we’re out doing things!) but i always put her white noise machine on, shut her blinds, read her a book and sometimes give her milk then just put her in her cot and sometimes she’ll self soothe but that has taken loads of practice so don’t stress! it takes time🫶 hope that made sense and helped in some way! sorry for the long winded reply! remember every baby

is different and this may not work for you! and that’s completely okay! good luck xx

Whenever my baby rubs his eyes I know he’s getting tired so I pop him in his pram and he will fall asleep

Thanks . We trying get her in more of a routine and used to being put down for naps and not using milk to sleep . Love any tips! As she’s in nursery next month.
Today , I’m going stay close to home most day (and next few days to help her ). Today I give her milk until she was drowsy , then wiggled her a little so she was awake when put her in cot (just). I had to use a dummy though.
She’s never been a fan of white noise so just made it dark.

She’s also now only sleeping for 30 mins during day. So need to figure something out.

I wait till he is showing tired signs. Which is usually when he starts climbing me and asking for milk, rubbing his eyes and being grumpy. We put him in his cot and sit away from him while he falls asleep, we have gone from feeding to sleep to this though and it’s taken a lot of work. He does 45mins-2hrs

My LB naps twice a day, usually every 3/3.5hrs. Nap lengths vary but at the moment we have finally got each one about an hour. We used to have a cat napper. Then aim for 3.5/4 hours before bedtime

Thanks , looking at it seems she sleeps every 3/3.5 hrs . She just will only sleep for 30/40ml a each time !

Yeah of course! So obviously doesn’t go to plan every single time but generally it’s:
7am- wake up and milk (i still breastfeed so not sure on ounces etc)
8-8:30- breakfast
10:30-11ish- milk (after she wakes from her nap)
12:30ish- lunch
2ish- milk (just before her second nap)
4:00- snacks (if she wants them)
5:30- dinner
7:00- milk (just before bed)

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Combi feeding advice

Has anyone gone from EBF to combi feeding? Currently do one bottle of EBM per night and they one half formula half breast milk mixed in the day. The other times she still feeds on me. Ideally I want to feed all day via bottle and all night with breast. She’s 7 weeks and takes a bottle well, how long should I leave it before adding another bottle to her daily routine?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰
