Struggling to collect colostrum

I started trying to collect colostrum yesterday at 39+3
I know it doesn’t work for everyone but I was so happy when I started to see a tiny bit come through, but I can’t seem to get anymore than a tiny drop.

Any advice?

On my first day I got barely anything but then every day since the amount has increased, literally got about 0.1ml first got...I also never collected it with my first and had no issues with BF supply if that's your plan x

I never managed to collect any, delivered by c section on Monday and she went straight to breast and got it that way. So don't panic. Of course that's if your planning to BF. No judgement or assumptions ❤️

It takes a few days to properly get going, I was the same barely got 0.5ml after ages now I can collect it more quickly. Found that massaging the breast helped first, ands calm peaceful environment. Keep going but also remember collecting colostrum has no impact on whether you can bf or not. Many mums don’t collect any and have a wonderful bf journey xx

I found massaging breast in a warm bath for like 10 minutes then sitting on the edge of the bath with feet still in the water (sat on the edge on a towel to make it more comfy)in the warm environment. I then lean forward and start the process over the bath, this had really helped me. I pretty much went from a couple drops on my first successful time of harvesting to this being my second time 2 days later. I was able to collect 2 syringes this way in 30 minutes. It worth giving it a go. X

Keep the stimulation going.. Use breast warmth and massaging. It may take time but even on empty mode this stimulte your breast. This is important to your milk supply. Here is our blog on this hope it will be helpfull https://mylee.life/blogs/mylee-blog/colostrum-harvesting-during-pregnancy

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
