My Lo has used the potty a few times, but we haven’t officially gone through the gauntlet yet of having her with pants off all day, making an attempt every hour or when she shows the signs. We would like to get to that this upcoming week (she just got over being sick and teething). I’ve heard rewards work well too or reading them a book while they stay on the potty.
I would wait and try again 3 months after baby is born (if she seems ready). Even if you are successful now, she is likely to regress when baby arrives. With my first we talked about it with her for months before doing it to get her prepared and then went all in (nappy fairy came and took away all the nappies 😂). She got the wee’s in a day and no accidents after that. Poos took about a week as she had developed some sort of fear of going and was just holding them in 😬 She was 2y and 8m (I’d also waited for things to settle with the new baby before we started).
We have just cracked it with our nearly 2 year old but we waited until our new baby had been here for nearly two months (which is quite soon still but our older girl was very ready). It’s advised not to attempt it when they’re going through a big life change. Our little girl had choosing to sit on the potty first with clothes on and then with nothing on her bottom half for a good while. I would just keep the potty out and let her get used to it informally until your newborn is least a couple of months old x
I would give her a little more time. Have you tried introducing her to the potty maybe with clothes on, talking about the potty, reading her a book about the potty. I think I got a book called Bear Uses the Potty
