Any one had this post labor? I am 3 weeks pp and noticed something bulging in my vagina, went to the GP and they told me itās a ācystoceleā and told me to do pelvic floor exercises. You know what GP appointments are like, so quick- I have so many unanswered questions. Will it ever go away or back to normal ? š

Iām pretty sure I have this aswell š© going to the doctor tomorrow !

I also have this but was told by my midwife to keep doing pelvic floor exercises and that it isn't concerning until 6 week check up and even then it's not always an issue and can just be lived with

I highly recommend a Mummy MOT! It is a bit invasive as of course they need to examine your pelvic floor but you get a detailed personalised plan to improve things and I assume theyād refer if further intervention needed too.
Honestly they should offer it to every PP person at 6-8 weeks as standard on NHS. I hate that weāre just told to ādo our pelvic floor exercisesā. I donāt like that you were just told this with no empathy

Iām pretty sure I have this too! Iām so worried itāll just keep getting worse :(

Ask to be referred to pelvic physio or see a mummy MOT practitioner āŗļø

also standard pelvic floor exercises aren't appropriate for everyone!!
hope you get on okay xx
thanks, thatās good to know, Iāve downloaded an app now for exercises, did they say it might go away by 6 weeks?x
thanks, Iāll look into this! I know, they seem to think PF exercises fix everything!
did you go to the doctor? Fingers crossed for you
they told me to do PF exercises and if it doesnāt get better to come back to see them again š¢

Please ignore that bit that they've said and speak to a specialist š«¶š»š¤š»

hi hun, did you get this done privately? Or through NHS?

how do I get a mummy MOT?

šÆ

Private š„² Ā£120 in London suburbs (although I wonder if itās a fixed rate). I should have checked if they took insurance actuality which is a baby brain moment on my part! Worth a shot if you have it.
You can find your nlocal womenās health physio who is qualified via their website:

Remember you can have a chaperone so consider that!
Absolutely 100000% this should be offered as standard on the NHS I think itās mad itās not already! I might start a petition š¤Ŗ

Ooh if you struggle to remember to do your pelvic floor exercises but are a pro at doomscrolling like me this Aussie lady is your gal: https://www.instagram.com/femalephysioco?igsh=MW13N21jM2QycjZudA==
Do remember though a personalised action plan from an expert is much more effective than standard squeezing and she does mention this!

I had this on my first baby and it went away after a few months and I barely did play pelvic floor exercises.
I noticed it again from my second a couple weeks back and actually have been doing the exercises this time round and it does help.
I always assumed it was my bladder but I read somewhere that itās your uterus and it sits a couple cm lower after birth but will eventually move back up š¤š»

I went to the doctors today for the same thing and they said they couldnāt see anythingā¦. But I 100% can see a bulge coming out which wasnāt there before, and it feels like a tampon is in wrong 24/7 so ugh itās so frustrating!

did you have a vaginal birth? I think I have the same thing but I had a c/section x
they diagnosed mine only after I pushed down (almost like imagine pushitn baby again) to show them it coming out as they couldnāt see it until I did that x

I do actually pay for private health insurance so may be worth looking into!

Did they examine you whilst standing or sitting? I pushed down whilst I was laying on my back and they still said they couldnāt see anything x
laying down for me xx

Hey! How are you feeling now? Iām experiencing this and wondered if it gets better as time goes on! Xx
it hasnāt so far for me but have an appointment with a physio at end of month and really hoping theyāll consider me for surgery as Iām not sure how any amount of pelvic floor exercises will fix this š„² how are you feeling? Have you seen a doctor? Xx
