I’ve tried every single sippy cup under the sun. And he will drink water fine but not his milk.
I’m wondering whether I should drop the milk and give him the calcium in yoghurt cheese etc.
Anyone else’s kid have this problem I’m worried about the bottle ruining his teeth

My daughter drank milk out of a bottle until around 16 months and refused milk in a sippy cup. Water in sippy cup was fine. Milk a no go. Then the teat stopped working for her and she stopped drinking milk completely. She ate lots of yoghurt and cheese and also had milk in stuff like cereal.

my son is 2 in 3 weeks and still has all 3 of his day bottles (only has 3 as part of a high calorie diet from dietician) in a mam milk bottle. He’s also still on size 2 because he chokes on a 3😳🙈😂
I’ve spoken to health visitors and doctors and they’ve basically said if it’s the only way they keep to it for now but just keep offering over time. He apparently will sometimes drink oat milk from an open cup at nursery as they have milk at snack times but it’s not consistent and it involves a lot of spillage. It took me till almost 18 months old to get him to use a Tommee tippee 4m+ beaker for his water.
Dentist has advised to move away from it asap. They’ve said to go cold turkey and basically that if he wants it then he’ll eventually give in and take it from an open cup but I also don’t want to go too far with it as he’s also on the SEN pathway and as a single mum, the meltdowns are hard. If he’s still the same by his next developmental review then I’ll try the cold turkey x

Have you tried the munchkin 360 cup, my daughter likes that one

I’ve decided to just keep the mam bottles and work on bulking out his meals and giving him more physical food. As when he’s eaten more he wants less milk…I think I’ve bulldozed.
It’s hard tbh it’s ruined his whole day and he’s like his momma he will just starve. And I can’t watch it. Thinking back to when I was a baby although I didn’t have. A bottle past 1 I had a dummy until nearly 2 so trying to pace and offer it every now and then x

I did have one but lost it 🥲🥲

Have you tried straw cups? They worked for us.

yup, at first thought it was the valve and then gave him like a tum tum and he still refused x

have you tried the mam drinking cup if you’re using mam bottles? It was the transition cup I used to get from bottle to a cup for his water. He still can’t use straw or 360 cups for water (we use TT beakers or a dinky cup) but it was a great one to transition with. X

My son has never drank milk lol he’ll eat a ton of cheese & will slam yoghurt pouches but we just aren’t adults that drink milk even, my partner uses it for cereal I’ll use it to bake but we don’t really drink it ever so we just skipped over that part with our son 🤷♀️

I’ll have a look he has got a mam sippy, and he uses that with water just not with his milk x
