Fundal height measuring ahead

Has anyone had a fundal height measuring a good 5/6 weeks ahead and still managed to have an average sized baby? I’ve been referred for the GD glucose test and was already under a consultant for endo so they’ve been alerted and may book in an earlier growth scan.

For reference this was at my 24 week midwife app and I know this isn’t always accurate, I’m just wondering how many ended up having a big baby and/or gestational diabetes or if baby was an average size (between 5.5-8.8lbs is the range)

My son was measuring weeks ahead from about 28 weeks and he was 8lbs 3 but very long lol - he put weight on so quickly as a newborn and still is as a toddler though😂my little chunk! But was within that normal range I’d say xx

My fundal height is always big but had 2 average babies (7lb14 and 7lb7). My tummy gets bigger with each pregnancy, I think my muscles have given up 😩 already look nearly 9 months this time 😆

ahh see, I didn’t even think about that, me and my partner aren’t the shortest of people 😅 oh I love that, just freaking out a little about pushing out a huge baby 🤣 yeah I would say that’s a standard size really xx

haha I mean now you’ve mentioned muscles, I have had 2 abdominal surgeries in the last few years. so it could definitely be due to that never recovering properly. I’m the same 😅 there’s no hiding it. This is also my 3rd pregnancy but will be first earth side so I imagine that plays some part in it too!

I was the other way around, if it helps for showing how much they can miss. Looked like the baby hadn’t grown in weeks so I was given an extra growth scan. Baby was fine, born at a perfectly average 7lb 10

this is actually really reassuring, I know they aren’t 100% accurate but you know how the mind just takes you to every eventuality, especially the bad 😅!

Oh of course it stresses you out. I was basically crying on and off from the moment the midwife said she was ‘a bit concerned’ until the sonographer basically insinuated that the midwife has wasted everyone’s time 🤣

The thing to remember is it sounds like you have a super proactive trust - they’ve got one flag for a potential complication and they’re doing the necessary checks. You’ll be getting everything you need. Good luck!

I had the opposite and was measuring behind and got sent for growth scans - induced at 39 weeks and he was 9lb 7 x

no way!!! I feel much less stressed now 😅 it really can be so inaccurate then x

My bump was measuring ahead with my first, they did a growth scan and thought she was average size but she came out at 9lb 14! I think all the measurements are just precautions and can't tell you anything definite, both the bump measurements and the scans 🤷🏻‍♀️

Avatar

My bump was off the charts with my first but he was 8lb 2oz when he was born 10 days late so quite normal sized, he’s now a 99th percentile 2 year old 🙈 I’m much bigger this time than at the same point last time already

Pregnancy after c section

What time scale did everyone get pregnant again after a c section?
I know the doc said they recommend eating at least a year to 18 months but it took 4 years to get pregnant the first time after being told we could not conceive naturally so not wanting to stop it happening knowing it could take a very long time again but also worried.

Hospital bag (UK)

What did everyone pack for their section? I'm staying in for 3 days due to mental health, not really sure what I'll need to bring, feeling very nervous. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Labour

Think im a bit confused really, i went into traige as was having contractions eveey 3-5mins. Since being here im now having them every 2-3mins which was confirmed with the machine and i think the toco was 90-100 and they feel painful and my lower back is in loads of pain but apparently im only just over 2cm dilated maybe, she has said i can stay here for a bit longer to see if things progress as had a previous quick birth as well but i dont understand why the pains are coming this quick if im only 2cm dilated and feel a bit deflated from it also.

I had a sweep this morning also.

Reduced movements

26 weeks and haven’t really felt little baby all day, she’s usually super active & I have a posterior placenta so I feel her all the time usually. I did feel her ever so briefly earlier right down into my pelvis. I was at maternity triage the other night with tummy cramps but everything was fine and so was baby. What should I do? I don’t want to feel like a nuisance?
