6 month bad sleep and tantrums

Hey looking for some reassurance that I’m not alone and it does get better lol

My little one is almost 6 months, doesn’t sleep well at night some nights he is awake 5/6 times every hour, or every 1.5 hours if we are lucky it may stretch to every 2 hours. His bedtime is roughly 7-7:30 and naps around 3 times a day no more than 30 mins. We have slowly started weaning, with porridge for breakfast and then dinner as well as his bottles. The last few days he os throwing tantrum after tantrum, if you take something off him, or walk out the room, or if he wakes up in the night he screams hysterically he gets so worked up. As soon as you pick him up or distract him he will eventually settle but it’s constant at the moment. I’m so exhausted and drained, I see it getting better for so many people but it just seems so hard right now. He’s teething and I’m using all the suggested teething toys, Nurofen when needed and teething powders etc. Could this all be down to teething or perhaps weaning? Or is this some form of regression, is anyone else going through similar? He doesnt have a temperature but is a hot baby so he’s sleeping in a vest at night as our room is 26 degrees at first I thought it was just down to the heat. Xx

Oh my gosh I feel like I’m going through the same with my little one! Sometimes she wakes 5-6 times in the night, she naps 3 times a day and at most are about an hour long. Shes definitely found her voice and makes it known! I never got the 4 month regression but the 6 month is coming in hard and feel so exhausted everyday. The temperature change doesn’t help much as each night she wears something different and sleep bag is at a different tog which I don’t think she likes! Trying to be patient and not change everything up to see how she can benefit from it all. All this sleep pressure etc I think is rubbish! I think sometimes she has a 3 hour wake window and gets in an hour nap and wakes up so awake. 3 hours before bed and she wakes up 30 mins in… It just depends on the day. I’m sure it’ll get better soon for you and baby 🫶🏻 you’re doing great x

My baby has always slept badly, so in that sense it’s more of the same. She’s been more fussy for sure and I think it’s teething.

That being said, there’s a lot going on for them at the moment. Weather change, teething, weaning, rolling, sitting, sounds, grip…. A lot for our little ones to deal with! Best thing is just take one day at a time.

Best thing I’ve found is to take her out in the pram, so I’m really not looking forward to all the rain coming our way.

I feel the exact same! I’m exhausted, not sure what to do with him atm! He’s awake throughout the night, 20 min naps, doesn’t want to sit, doesn’t want to be on his back or tummy, it’s exhausting! Fingers crossed it’s a phase and will be over soon🤞🏻

Good to see this behaviour is normal. Same here, LG about to turn 6m is not sleeping well. I think it's teething for her as she keeps rubbing her face so sometimes I give her paracetamol, but I'm trying not to rely on that and she wakes so much at the moment.
The heat is not helping!

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
