Are we in the minority? My daughter’s nappy is still very heavy in the morning. For those fully out, any tips or is it just a waiting game?

Yep! Still wearing pull ups to bed, has been potty trained in the day since 2.5 years old but is still wet every night, I don’t believe you can train someone to do something while they are asleep x

I've been thinking about this as I want to tackle evening potty training as soon as possible. My thoughts were buy mattress protectors, multiple blankets/sheets and just go bold and out him to bed with nothing on. The feeling of being wet will wake him I know but my thinking is he'll learn to be able to hold it until the morning! x

I'd say if it's a pretty heavy nappy still you need to try and limit the liquid intake before bedtime! Our daughter has been potty trained since 2.5 and we started limiting liquid intake from 6ish (bedtime 7:30). Bath then make sure goes to the loo before bed, then we wake her up to go on the loo at circa 11pm when we go to bed then she goes til the AM. But it has taken a few wet beds to get her here but also you red to go cold turkey with nappy because the security of the nappy will just allow her to keep doing the same thing, nappy free will take away that liberty to just go and she will learn that she needs to learn to hold it or go on the potty. Good luck - you need to persevere but once they get the hang of it their set xxx

I think it just happens when they’re ready! We did nothing for my little boy he just did it on his own. I think it can happen any time until 6 x

I took our little girl out of them when we took the nappies away when we fully trained around 2 years 3 months...same with my boy. I felt if you leave them on then they know they can wee in them. We just pop her on the toilet right before bed and she's fine.

You can’t potty train for overnight. It’s something they do when they’re ready.
We stopped them with our son about 9 months ago as he was consistently completely dry and waking up to go to the toilet.

You have to wake them up at some point and encourage them to pee. Eventually they start doing it themselves

Less milk before bed and encourage washroom wake up during the night you might have to model this during the night for it to work hope this helps

my daughter turned 4 at end of april. Last year when she just turned 3,been still in nappies and I was thinking how she will start nursery with nappy still on..Fortunately by autumn started we removed it although night time she still was wearing nappies. By now she had accidents night time but usually bed is dry,for example last night she even asked me to bring her to toilet ..:)
