Does anyone else’s newborn scream so much they legit stop breathing and go so red/purple in the face when they change their nappy or clothes?
It’s honestly terrifying me… he hates hates HATES having his nappy changed, or clothes… he cries so intensely and it’s so sad to see.
Is it normal for a baby to hate it so much?
I dread nappy changes in the night as my partner is working early, and then we have his children 3-4 nights a week and they wake up to him crying xx

Yep - mine was the same. We were terrified to bath him for the first time because of that! He’s great now. It’s a phase and will pass, u just need to stay chill and go at ur own pace. He will start to love it but it takes a bit of time x

My baby used to cry sooo much during nappy changes then i started using warm wipes and it’s so much better. Maybe you could try if you haven’t tried already?

yeah I feel the cold of the wipes he doesn’t like but as soon as we unbutton his sleep suit or take off his trousers he just starts crying x

Mine was the same!! Hated nappy changes and screamed blue murder, then he got used to it, now he’s crawling and rolling he’s a nightmare to keep on his back and change so often cries again 😅

My son for the first 3 months he just did not stop screaming!! He was holding his breath to worrying amounts and nothing would calm him down he didn't sleep hardly it was a nightmare!! And yes it's normal for them to hate being changed my son is nearly 7 months and he's still the same when I change his nappy or clothes he goes mental

My daughter was the same! She settled eventually though. Please be wary of wipe warmers- they encourage bacteria growth

Yes ours was hysterical every time. I know this is controversial but we started changing him on the floor infront of the tv and putting on some baby sensory or a baby song and it would calm him down. A week later we noticed he had stopped completely so we stopped using the tv and now he’s fine with being changed.
