I was told today that baby boy is head down but in a peculiar position. The midwife said she could not work out exactly how he is lying but that his body seems to be almost in a U-shape. I’ve been told if he hasn’t moved then will need to go for a scan and if his position isn’t optimal then a c section will be suggested. Anyone had a similar situation? I’ve been banking on a natural birth.

If you end up having the scan, that should give you a lot more clarity about baby's position. From there you should be able to find out what gentle exercises you can do to get baby in the optimal position which means you hopefully won't need a c section. Try not to stress too much for now. Hope it all works out!

You've still got time for baby to get into the right position. Don't stress. Wait for the scan and go from there.
If baby doesn't turn, a c section, especially planned, really isn't the end of the world. It can still be a perfect birth.
