Bed recommendations

My son is absolutely fine in his cot but I've recently had a baby and am reluctant to buy another cot bed for when I make the move from next-to-me to cot in a few months time for baby. I'll therefore need to reluctantly move him into a big boy bed.

I'm really unsure of what style of bed to go for, i.e. single bed, trundle bed etc (ruled out a toddler bed as I want it to last him). Or do I keep him in what he's in and transition my newborn into a travel cot until my son is ready to ditch the cot. He's never been a good sleeper so i'm dreading the transition as it'll no doubt cause a lot of disruption. Appreciate I'm totally overthinking this 🫣 but what do those of you who have made the transition/are in a similar situation with 2 children close in age recommend?

I’d get him a full single sized floor bed, or just a regular single bed with bed guards. But don’t panic yet, your baby might be in the next to be for a while yet.

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

Self settling

Any tips or advice of how to teach 6.5month old to self settle? I’m up multiple times in the night to cuddle her back to sleep and put the dummy in. I understand she will wake up and want a cuddle etc but any tips on self settling would be appreciated 🥰

Baby losing weight

Hi all, it's been a long time since I had a baby (my son is 15!). My daughter is 10 days old and was 9lb born, she has since lost weight at every appointment and is at a 12% loss. I am breast feeding every two hours for over an hour and topping her up every feed. I pump and can get 60ml in 10 minutes so I know my supply is okay. Anyone had this before? Can give me some tips? I currently feel like I'm letting my baby down.
