Naps

Hey everyone. My little boy )7 months on the 10th) has finally started getting into a routine with naps, he usually has 3-4 naps which usually last around 30 minutes to an 1.5 hours, do we still just let them sleep for as long as they want when napping or are we waking them when it hits a certain time frame? He also likes a nap at 3.45 usually for around 45 minutes but then I find hes tired by 7/7.30 but then he wakes at 8 and is a monkey to settle, how are we stretching the last wake window? Baby is breastfed and currently on 2 meals with weaning if that makes a difference

Do you feed to sleep? I find that breastfeeding at the beginning ir middle of the wake window means he can have a longer window. If I breastfeed wheb he is starting to get tired, he falls asleep.

I let him sleep as much as he wants. That is up to you and weather you think it is affecting night sleep.

I know for us 4 naps would be to much and would affect night sleep so atm my LO has 2 or 3 naps .Overall i won't let her sleep longer then 2.5-3h in the day night sleep is 19.30-6am

yeah i feed to sleep, he generally wont sleep without boob 😂

i try to only let him have 3 naps but yesterday he had 4 and it messed up bedtime, he doesnt sleep through yet

if feeding to sleep works for you I won't say atopmit but make sure you're not offering the boob too early to make sure he gets 2 to 2.5hr wake window

Never a risk of mine sleeping too much. I have an older daughter and he is always being woke up by her or in and out the car for school pick up etc. he is absolutely exhausted by 7pm.

it works but it can be frustrating, theres no trouble with the length of wake window as hes a fomo baby so even getting him to nap can be a battle, currently hes 3 hours into a wake window, usually has a lunchtime nap but he napped for 1.5 hours at 11.30, next nap due in next 30-45 mins or at least thats when he likes a sleep x

i also tend to offer boob once he starts doing his tired cues x

When do things get easier?

As we entered the 9-12 month stage, my son started crawling and pulling himself up. He also became more clingy and does not play alone, still doesnt sleep through the night, and this week has been sick (so EVERYTHING amplified). I am tired and overwhelmed. Please lie and tell me things get better. 🥺

4 month bed time

What time do you put your babies to bed?
What time do you start your 'routine?'
My LO currently goes to bed around 10.30pm, and I know i need to start bringing it forward. Everytime ive tried, it takes longer for my LO to settle.
We are exclusively breastfeeding. Any advice Mamas?

6 month old autistism

My 6 month old makes no eye contact with me and doesn’t respond when I call him. Can this just be a phase or personality trait as apposed to autism

Colostrum storing?

Has anyone successfully extracted colostrum before the baby’s born? Apparently it gets produced from 16w pregnant and you can start storing it in the freezer but I’m 34w looking at my nipples and the syringes on amazon wondering how it works?? Like what did you use and did it hurt? 🥲

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
