3 weeks postpartum and made it out for the first time on my own with baby boy on the bus as I had a c-section so not allowed to drive 😩 literally googled is it safe to take a newborn on the bus cos it was shaking the pram soo much 😩
Really miss the freedom of being able to drive wish I could nip out in the car and also been advised not to walk the dog either cos he can pull me too much but really struggling to not do the things I normally do, I thought I would be out with the dog every day and feel bad that its an extra job for my husband to do after working all day. 3 weeks to go and should be a bit more back to normal 🙏🏻

That’s a great success! Getting out with the baby is so hard at first.
I would just say check your car insurance. Mine says I’m okay to drive if a doctor says I’m fit to (how you get that confirmed I don’t know yet) but you may be okay.
I’m the same I am 1 week PP after a section and feel trapped in my house and body not driving so checked my insurance.

Well done!! That's so great you've managed to get out on your own! I'm 4 weeks pp and still haven't managed to get out 😞 my little one does not like being put down on the pram and has been cluster feeding lots which makes it difficult. I'm going to attempt to walk to the post box today. I definitely miss having that little bit of freedom as much as I love my daughter.

If you feel okay then you could drive.
You don’t get a fit to drive check by the doctor at your 6 week check. Don’t know where that comes from! They normally just ask about the baby.
Your insurance probably doesn’t have a 6 week rule either. I know mine didn’t when I checked.
So it’s generally down to you and how you feel.
I was driving about 10 days after my second section. I had to drive to take eldest to pre school.

It's so hard when you feel your independence has been taken away during recovery.
I walked my reactive dog with the pram yesterday for the first time solo (almost 5weeks post csection) and it felt amazing. I've been doing daily walks as soon as I got home but being able to walk the dog has made such a difference and it was surprising how calm he was compared to usual

awe thats amazing! Yeah I have been going for walks with my husband holding the dog and me pushing the pram or taking the carrier but my dog pulls a lot so waiting to take him out. I will phone my insurance to query it as they kept saying in the hospital it wouldn’t be covered 🤷🏻♀️ xxx

thanks so much my little one is the same at home I have been having him in the carrier as he never lets me put him down unless he is in a deep sleep or if the pram is moving he is okay its just if its stationary he doesn’t like it. He was soo good out tho, he even let me eat my lunch out in peace, think a change of scenery helps us both xxx

I’m 3 weeks pp and haven’t made it out the house due to an infection. I can’t drive either. I’m struggling with loosing that freedom. My partner is doing the school runs for my eldest. X

its such a risk when they pull. We have 2 and I can't walk the puller yet, the one I've walked is reactive to dogs so can lunge but his behaviour was so different with baby there. Maybe take the lead when your husband is there and see if pup changes behaviour due to you having baby there. Hopefully you can walk them soon solo 🥰

when Ive been with my husband he has been so good he kept staying near the pram. Has yours adjusted okay to the baby? Xx

awwe sorry to hear that, me and baby both had an infection and was in hospital for 8 days so we had a late start to adjusting to motherhood at home so I know how you feel. Hope you are soon better its not easy recovering from a c section its worse than I ever imagined xx

Thankyou Sheri xx

that's so good they do seem to know don't they.
Yes they've both been great with baby, they sniff his feet and protect him. They don't react to him crying and are really relaxed around him such a relief

I was allowed to drive after 3 weeks check with your insurance if you honestly feel ready and safe x
My policy is wuth direct line x
