When is everyone starting maternity leave?
I am due 30th August and was hoping to work up until my due date. This week i dont known if im going to be able to do this. Im so tired, feeling stressed super easily and feel like im just overcommitting to everyone. I love my job and already getting FOMO but feel guilty for starting it early when our baby girl isnt here and missing out on precious time with her

I started at 30 weeks, best decision ever. Taking all my accumulated holidays after the leave

I’m taking 4 weeks AL leading me up to mat leave beginning of August. Can’t do what I do heavily pregnant in this heat. I finish this Friday x

I'm due 30th August as well, as it stands I'm taking AL from 31st July, and then Maternity starts 18th August - but I'm seriously considering using some more holiday hours before hand, because I am so done out. X

I think we all hoped we would work up until our due date 😆 wishful thinking! I'm starting mine 3 weeks before due date and I have a few holidays to take here and there

I’m due 23rd but taking holiday from the 31st July! Also wondering to bring it earlier haha?

Due on the 18th of August stopping work on the 11th of July!

Due 21st, taking it 18th but have two weeks holiday from the 4th. So last working day is the 1st August.

Thank you everyone. This is really helped i think i need to rethink my last day

My due date is the 16th of August. My maternity leave will start on 07 july, but I'm on 2 weeks of holidays before it starts, I thought I would be able to work at least till one week before due date, but no, I'm really tired 🥵

Due 12th Aug and last day is meant to be next Friday - debating to take it this week! I work in a private day nursery and the struggle is real x

Im 2 weeks behind you and i feel
Exhausted and so bloody hormonal. Back to work tomorrow and hoping some normality will help but definitely going to have to review my last day. Although are any of you worried about being bored with no work/baby?! X

Due 23rd August, finishing up with annual leave on 23rd July with maternity kicking in some point on w/c 18th August. X

Due here on the 25th August, taking holiday from the 31st July. Maternity starting 18th August. So technically taking one week before due which I’m now wondering if an extra week would have helped 🤦🏼♀️🤣

I'll be having a c section the first week of August and my last day of work is 31 July 🥵 i figure its horrible now but it means more time with my little girl on the other side as I can't take that much maternity leave (financially) x

I’m 34+3 and really struggling. Last day of work is going to be 36+5 and I’m hoping I can make that. I’m just so tired and heavy and uncomfortable. No way would I have made it to 38/39 weeks if I feel like this now! 😩

I’m due the 30th August also and as it stands I’m working til 31st July and then using annual leave to start maternity end of August x

I'm due 1st August and finishing 4th July, scared of going early and not having any time to wind down from a stressful job (plus the heat is getting to me now)

I'm 33 weeks on wed and finish up at work on Friday. I'm SO ready to be done!

I'm due 8th Aug and start maternity thay day. Taking 3 weeks annual leave beforehand, so last working day is 18th July when I'll be 37 weeks 😊

I’ve always worked up until 38 weeks minimum, I get so anxious in those least few weeks before baby is born because I just want them here so having my normal routine and adult conversation I find takes my mind off all the waiting

My date is 29th August. Work have told me that if baby comes early due to complications or preclamsia it’s not included in maternity leave or family leave it’s called something else . Speak to work about it. I’m working up to my due date because of that.

Due 4th August and my last working day is 11th July so going off at 37 weeks. I have a toddler though and my work days are my rest days 😂

With my first two I worked up until they were born, but I am lucky to have a desk-based job and quite a lot of flexibility. Despite I was working I could wind down quite significantly over the last few weeks. This time I’ll be induced by Aug 11 and will work until the very end of July. The alternative to continue working is to stay at home chasing 2 kids, so work might actually be “more relaxing” 😅

Due 11th August, started mat leave today. I was feeling very guilty taking it earlier than planned but I have to say I am not regretting it now xx

I’m due 9th of August and finish up for MAT leave on the 1st, I WFH and my work is flexible xx

I will be 36 weeks when I finish! X

Just a question for those who are taking annual leave ahead of mat leave, is there any benefit to doing it that way? My work have said I can roll over annual leave so I wasn't going to use any pre mat leave but use it at the end instead - does it make any difference?

Im using my accrued leave at the end where i will have no income in the last 3 months

I can’t carry mine over so the only benefit is that I don’t loose it! X

the only benefit really to me is that you're holding off maternity pay starting, therefore holding off getting paid less 😂 also the longer I can push maternity starting, I also push coming back. I'm also taking annual leave on the other side of maternity. X

Due 24th August ans have chosen to extend my time off so now finish on 31st July with 3 weeks holiday and Mat leave kicking in 26th Augusr

@Ashley this was my reasoning for taking AL beforehand too. Putting off reduced mat pay until later haha
