I call it both vacuum and hoover (we actually have a hoover, though). I used to only ever call it a hoover, but then I worked at a vacuum factory for 7 years and was continuously corrected, so now I'm overly conscious about it 🫠

My family call any brand of toothpaste Colgate 🙃 .. and yes Hoover (UK)

It’s vacuum but we do say Hoover when referring to using the attachments. US

I’m English and say vacuum but everyone I know says hoover.

my family call any bottle steriliser "Milton" 😂😂

In Dutch I'd call it a stofzuiger which loosely translates to vacuum cleaner.

I’m from the US but live in the UK and it’s one I still haven’t officially changed in my vocab - still call it a vacuum cleaner

Vacuum a hoover is a brand

I feel like there must be quite a few of these like band-aid or jacuzzi.

My parents are from India so growing up I heard Hoover , I only learned what a vacuum was when I started school.

It’s the sweeper. I had no clue this wasn’t a common thing? I’m from the Midwest in the USA so maybe it’s a hillbilly thing?

My grandma always called it a sweeper! Her family was from Kansas & Oklahoma but we grew up in South Texas 🤷♀️

Definitely vacuum, I may call it something else if it was something else or a particular boujie brand/ type but mine isn't 😂 and I live in the US
