How are we getting the toddler to sleep with a baby? My husband doesn’t get home from work until 8pm so I have been waiting for him to get in and he has been taking 23 month old to bed as baby is still feeding. The process is taking longer and longer and toddler sometimes not asleep until 10pm!! There has been no changes to his nap he sleeps approx 2 hours 11:30-1:30/ 2pm. I think it’s because bedtime is too late so i want to do it at the old time of 7:15 but I am struggling with a baby who is clingy and hungry at this time. Any tips? I have considered going a walk in the pram after bath but that’s not sustainable long term

When my husband works nights, I sit next to my 21mo and give her my hand/ arm while I breastfeed my 3mo on the other side if that makes sense. I practiced her falling asleep with me sitting next to her while I was late stages of pregnancy to prepare her for it, it took her maybe a few weeks to get used to it. She also has a floor bed so that makes it easier for me to sit on the floor next to her xx

I put baby on a mat/bouncer whilst I do stories with toddler, then toddler goes in her bed and I sit with baby on me for a bit then leave and toddler puts herself to sleep after a while. If baby was already asleep I’d put her in her cot with a monitor. If baby needed a feed I would delay bed time a bit to feed the baby quickly. Baths are when my partner is home 2-3 times a week x
