Hi everyone,
My little boy turns 2 weeks tomorrow. I am really struggling with the night times. My baby has been awake pretty much since 4:45 and has not been back to sleep.
My partner is about to go back to work and will be out of the house from 6:30am - 6:30pm. I will then have to do all of the night feeds as well.
Has anyone moved back in with their parents temporarily as my mom works from home, starts work later and finishes earlier than my partner so would have extra support.
Any experiences or advice would be hugely appreciated!

I would go for it if I was in your position! Sounds like your mum will be a great help. It’s hard doing it all by yourself.

I would do it. If my parents were closer I would xx

Honestly it depends on you and your parents. I love my parents to death and my Mum especially is my best friend, my husband goes away a lot for work and I’ve spent a few chunks of time (like 2/3 weeks) staying with them when I’ve had my babies. It’s lovely to have the support but I do always end up feeling very, very overwhelmed and overstimulated. It can be a lot trying to find your new routine with baby and how you want to parent while being in someone else’s space and having them be very involved. I’m autistic though so it could very much be a me problem as it doesn’t take much to overwhelm me haha. I’d definitely try it and if you find it too much you can always go home earlier than planned. Even just being around another adult more throughout the day will probably be great for your mental health as being at home with just baby can be so lonely x

My mam came down to stay with us for a couple of days and it was a godsend. If she lived closer I would definitely take this option, it’s hard especially when you’re still recovering xxx
