Am I the a**hole ?

When I was pregnant my mum kindly went and brought the next to me crib for us as a surprise ... which me and my partner greatly appreciated.
My LO has used for just over 4 months now but the material on the side which drops and the foot end of the crib keeps bobbling and she get them caught in her hair and between her toes. She likes sleeping with her face pressed against the side which is bobbling and im concerned she'll ingest the bobbles so decided to replace the crib but my mum decided to be childish about it, then said she'd resell it but I dont feel safe doing that ... am I wrong to not resell the crib ??
(Picture attached was sent to her on june 29th and has got worse since even with trying to remove them almost daily)

Not the asshole in my opinion. If that was how it looked after two+ kids then okay maybe(they aren't used for that long period child ) but I still wouldn't sell it on. After 4 months? That's a quality concern and if I wouldn't use it then someone else shouldn't be, especially by paying for it x

Agree with Katie, your first port of call should be contacting the manufacturer as it should definitely still be under warranty. Doesn't make sense buying a new one and getting into pettiness over it, also she gifted it to you so it's not up to her to decide what you do with it once you're done with it.

unfortunately didn't have a warranty on it. She brought from amazon and they no longer list this exact one on there

Pretty much any moderately pricey item comes with atleast a year from the manufacturer as standard, it's usually in the pack that comes with instructions and health & safety etc. You could check their website, it doesn't matter if she bought it from amazon as long as it was bought new ☺️

If you can’t return it or contact manufacturer the. you could always sell it on for very cheap/free and just be open/honest about the issue.
Someone might be good with DIY and be able to fix it or their baby might be happy sleeping higher up and not an issue for them. Or if tight on money it is better then nothing.

Can you not remove them? I have this little machine thing that removes bobbles off my sofa and that and it takes the bobbles off. Could place a blanket or something over it but guess she might pull it off.
Is it attached to the bed? If not can you do up the side which drops and flip it round? So she sleeps against the other side?

Definitely not the arsehole though.

We have a little hand held device that is used to remove bobbles. We’ve used it on our clothes and it’s great. Have you tried that?

Avatar

we've tried everything to get rid of them xx

Steam clean and sell it for cheap or donate it someone without a lot of money could use it if they are not bothered by the bobbles or want to get rid of them.

Avatar

You are in the right here. But you could still re sell it and just explain in the description as there are de bobblers that can get rid of it.

Scissors , razor & the hand held device will do just fine for this honesty. Even a shaver will get this off if you damp it

Leaky nappy help

What nappies are you using to stop leaks?? We use pampers ultra dry size 5, and for the past few nights he has lashed through and we’ve had to completely change him during the night. Last night he leashed through twice!! He sleeps on his front and stays leaks through at the top of his leg where the tabs connect. Didn’t know whether to size up, he has a bit of a belly on him but he’s smack in middle of weight guidance so shouldn’t need too

New born

Finally had my baby girl via C-section on the 18th, everything has been so far. But I’ve noticed she’s very fussy and cries a lot. I’ve been trying to exclusively breastfeed. The lactation consultant at the hospital said I did look like I’m making enough milk for her. She was latching on good at the hospital and now here at home, she doesn’t seem to want to latch at all. She’s been crying a lot and very fussy. I’m just wondering is she’s colic or like maybe she just doesn’t want the breast anymore?

5.30am wakeups 😫😴

My 15 week old has started waking up about 5.30am and is really hard to settle back down - it’s like he thinks it’s time to wake up for the day. He used to go to bed at 9pm and was up at 8am but now he goes to bed between 7.30-8pm as he’s knackered by then but waking up at 5.30am😴. Any advice to get him to sleep a little longer in the morning?! Even an extra hour would be lovely 🤣
