I have just been diagnosed with cancer and I have about 3/4 weeks before I need to get some tests that require to stop breastfeeding as they are invasive.
So I want to use this time to do it the gentle way.
During the day is not much of an issue as she is entertained and doesn’t breastfeed as much anymore, but nap time and during the night she does a lot. Her whole 3h nap is latched onto my breast and during the night she breastfeed to sleep and during the night latches a few times without waking up as we cosleep.
Any experience or advice is welcomed.
TIA

Hey darling, so sorry you’re going through this! I’m currently having tests for the same and have thought about this if it is my outcome, I guess just increase bottle use first with your milk then gradually formula but maybe still pump throughout this time so that WHEN you are better you can get back to it?
Oh I just realised that I didn’t put my LO age 😅 she is 19 months old so she doesn’t need it anymore. Also I have never pumped or give her a bottle so I don’t have any of that. I have been trying to give her full fat milk which seems that she like it but not a fan, and also for her is not about the milk is about the comfort and sleep association.
Also so sorry that you are going through it as well and hopefully you will get back to it ❤️. For me I prefer to wean her off now since I have time and regardless of the outcome I was gonna do it when she would turn 2 so I don’t see the point on stopping for a little bit and coming back to it for just a few months.
